Hi,
I have got married recently and was headed to prepare my marriage certificate to proceed ahead to apply for PR in Canada.
I am an Indian citizen residing in Mumbai from the past 29 years.
My wife is an immigrant in Canada and holds the Permanent Resident card from the past 1.5 years.
She is still an Indian citizen (and Indian passport with Canadian Visa stamps).
Issue / Confusion :
The Indian marriage certificate clearly states the currently residing address of the bride and the groom.
As per the Mumbai registrar office ,they require the passport with Canadian address / voting card / other documents to validate the address.
Still being an Indian citizen, my wife's passport shows the old address that she had in India. As she is not a Canadian citizen, she does not have any of the proof due to which the registrar is not ready to print the Canadian address in the Marriage certificate. Please note that at current she is working in Canada and not staying in India.
Problem is that the registrar is not ready to print her Canadian address even though she has other valid documents like PR, SIN, health care cards, mobile bills, etc. provided by the Canadian government.
Question :
When I apply as a dependent, would her Indian address (where she does not stay currently) create any trouble for my application ?
Note that the Marriage certificate displays the current address as my wife's Indian address.
Would i be validated since the marriage certificate will display the Indian address but my wife currently resides in Canada ?
Please do ask me more details or clarification if the case is not clear.
