Hi guys,
I'm wondering if someone went through this situation and can share their experience?
I'm sponsoring my dad from Pakistan. He is 65 and retired. He lost some of his educational documents and can't find them. He contacted his school and the process to get replacement documents is so ridiculously non-sense and long. Does he really need to send his educational documents? I mean he is pretty old and not going to work or do anything.
Second my mom died 25 years ago. Do they still need marriage certificate from my dad?

Thanks

Does your mother's death certificate have her married name? I'm sure that would be ok.

I'm sure it's not important that your father show his educational documents. He's immigrating as a member of the family class - not as a skilled worker.

Thanks for the quick reply thaiguy...

So really he doesn't need to send his educational documents? That would make my life a lot easier..
Can someone else shed some light on my situation?

Thanks again

oh by the way...I just remember one more thing. His birth certificate...he was born in India but then moved to Pakistan after partition in 1947. In Pakistan authorities have no record of his birth. He does have a birth date on his passport and ID. We contacted authorities and they are no help. Did anyone go through this before? would like to share your experience? Thanks

Well, you're going to need to provide enough evidence of where he was born to verify his citizenship and background.

If you can't do that, it's going to cause delays at the very least.
