Hi all,
Thanks for all your brilliant help through the process, but I have one more question.
We have now received our COPR, I (Canadian Citizen) have sponsored my common-law spouse. We must arrive before September, however we are set to marry in July and don't have a trip to Canada planned in the meantime (trying to save for the wedding!)
Now my questions:
Thanks all
Kevin
Thanks for all your brilliant help through the process, but I have one more question.
We have now received our COPR, I (Canadian Citizen) have sponsored my common-law spouse. We must arrive before September, however we are set to marry in July and don't have a trip to Canada planned in the meantime (trying to save for the wedding!)
Now my questions:
- If we (applicant) do not land prior to the wedding, will there be problems with immigration?
- If 1 above is no, do we need to contact CIC? If so - who do we contact, and how?
- If 2 above is true, how long will that take? We would want to land in Canada 3 weeks after marriage, and are unlikely to have our marriage certificate yet.
Thanks all
Kevin
