Hi all,

I'm from India and I got PR visa for 10 months. I have few questions related to getting married before landing.

1) I came to know the I have to return the visa and include the spouse in the process. Is this right ?
2) As my wife's surname changes after marriage, do we need to request for name change in passport ? Is that mandatory ?
3) Do we need to include spouse name in passports ?
4) What is the minimum time it takes to get visa after reapplying ? Do CIC extend my visa date if they delay my wife's process ?
5) Do I need to show Proof of Funds again?
6) Can I apply PCC for my wife at her native place ? this place is different from where I took PCC.

Please correct me and also please let me know if someone also in same track :)

No clarity on timelines yet. Could be a few months. You'll have to provide PCC and medicals for your spouse as well.

5) Do I need to show Proof of Funds again? Yes. For 2 applicants.
6) Can I apply PCC for my wife at her native place ? this place is different from where I took PCC.

Yes. Make sure their PCC isn't time-bound or geography-bound.

Please correct me and also please let me know if someone also in same track :)

Thanks Asivad Anac for reply.

Can you please tell me where I can find the guide and steps to include spouse application.

Asavid, can't he get his wife there through family sponsorship ?

Sure. That will take much longer than this route.

I'm in the same shoes. Got PPR and now we discuss marriage with my girlfriend.

Does anybody have a slightest idea how long will it take to include spouse in application?

Probably a month or two after you inform CIC about change in family composition.

What will be the timeline, if someone gets a PR Card, and then come back to India to get married to take back his wife to Canada with a PR Visa?

You can't sponsor your wife from India since you are a PR. You must be living in Canada when you submit the application and you must remain in Canada while the application is being processed. She will most likely not be approved for a TRV and will have to remain at home while you sponsor. Plan on 8-12 months.
