Hello All,

This is my first post after registering, but have been a nascent member reading up on posts for a long time.

I am in a dilemma. I applied to OPNP Int'l master's graduate stream in January 2013. I am getting married in end of march 2013 and wouldn't get the marriage certificate for a few months. Should I inform ON provincial nominee office about adding my spouse as a dependent or add her during my PR application once my provincial nomination is approved? During application I was still single, but my status will change to married before the nomination comes through.

What should I do? Thanks for your help in this matter.

I guess that depends on if you want to add your wife as a PR applicant. If no, prob you just need to inform the office and replace some forms. If yes, they prob will let you re-apply all over again, I guess.

But either way, let the officer know asap and help you update your martial status.

Cheers.

Hi there. i am in a similar situation. i got married long after i had been nominated by ontario pnp. just a few months back i received a letter from cic requesting for my passport so that they can print the pr visa as they had already reached a decision on my pr application. At that point of time i was only engaged and was planning to get married. in the letter that cic sent me, they also asked me to update them of any changes in conditions like marriage or adoption of a child. so as a reply for that letter i had informed them that i am planning to get married. and that i wished my spouse to be added to my pr application.

my question is: is it possible to ask just for a change in my marital status in case my husband in not accompanying me to canada.

or is it better to add him to my pr application so that he can accompany me to canada

in either case can you give me information as to what the procedures might be.

thanks i would really appreciate your insight into this matter.
