Marking Listening Section

I have a question, i remember reading that the marker for the listening/reading test have to ensure the candidate answers match their stipulated answer sheets.

If the answer to the question was "the pacific hotel" and my answer is "pacific hotel"

Would my answer be incorrect?

It matters while giving answer for Listening or Reading. However that depends upon the form of question where the answer would get written. Many times in listening section, the speaker speaks with 'The' but the answer should be without 'the' to suite the form of question.
