Hello everyone,

I have been following various threads on this forum, however, just do not see anything conclusive.

What should Market Reseachers do, apply or not apply to 1122? This year for sure is closed, but if it opens up next time, can we?

Our jobs in a nutshell, simply put, entail collecting data, prepararing reports and presenting these to clients to answer their business problems.

Look forward to your thoughts and suggestions. If FSW is not an option, is it QSW that we should go for?

I am in India.

Regards,

Re: Market Researchers - how to immigrate to Canada

There is no black and white answer

If your job duties are matching mostly to the job duties under NOV 1122 then go ahead and apply.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=1122

Form what you have said in your post your job duties are not matching to 1122 NOC code like
You have not talked about providing advice on the managerial methods
Conducting research to determine efficiency and effectiveness of managerial policies and programs
Conducting assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
Conducting quality audits and develop quality management and quality assurance standards for ISO (International Organization for Standardization) registration

If you feel you do all these and your employer can put your job duties in reference letter you can apply in next year provided 1122 is still in the Occupation list

Re: Market Researchers - how to immigrate to Canada

Thanks Ankit, our job duties do not quite match many there - maybe yes/maybe no.

Look forward to insights/advice from others as well. Can we fit somehow into 1122, or is straightforward 4163?

Makes sense to wait for FSW 2012, or rather apply for QSW?

Regards,

i had applied for immigration under FSW2 (arranged employment).
my NOC is 0611 as Marketing Researcher.
i dont know how did they put that NOC code instead of 4163.
this year the cap for applicants related to business or management field was 500 and last year it was 1000.
and according to sources there might be no cap for those applicants next year.
but lets hope for the best.

Hi Vishal,

What is the status of your application? Do you really get job offers from employers in Canada when you have not yet landed?
