i have a very complicated situation:
i came to Canada aS an international student in 2013 and started dating my ex boyfriend in 2013.In 2014 we moved in together and lived together, married in 2016.By the time we applied for sponsorship we were common law for more than 2 years, dating for almost 3. He sponsored me and in feb 2018 I became a PR. In jun 2019 we stopped living together and I am thinking about applying for citizenship now (I qualify to apply 2 years after becoming PR because I was an international student.) We have not decided on what we going to do with our marriage though. We don’t live together however we text to check up on each other and both him and me are not dating anyone since the trauma we both had in our relationship is still very raw.
do you think it’s better to wait to apply for Citizenship for me when we decide to head for a divorce or we decide to get back together?can this kind of a situation raise any concerns from IRCC?
or it’s okay for me to apply now? What do I need to put in marital status in that case?Still married?separated?
thank you.
