Hi,

So I have received my ITA and I am now continuing with submitting the application. While I was filling my form for marital status there is a question which confuses me. I am divorced and its aksing me have you ever been married before or been in a common law relationship? Is this the question relating to my divorce or any other relationship before this divorce? Please note that this question comes after I have filled the form for my marital status, this is the second question which comes after. What sould I fill in it? give details of my divorce or simply chose no since this is the only relationship I had?

"have you ever been married before or been in a common law relationship"

If you purely consider this question and without all the context, this is easy to answer.

You should answer yes.

IF I answer yes it ask me for my ex's details my marriage and dovorce details and then in the end asks again how the relationship ended?

Is this not asking about other relationships?

I think if you have already entered information sbout your ex husbsnd snd reason for divorce earlier, you should answer no.

If that information has not been entered where you informed that you are divorced then choose yes, & enter the corresponding informstion. If there is any ambiguity you can mention in you LOE that you were married once and its information is provided.

It should suffice that you answer about your previous marriage, having understood this is the only relationship you've been in and provided that you haven't been married prior to the marriage that has recently been ended.

Are you from LB ?

Hello Sana

Are u from Pakistan ? I too am from there. I have also received my ita but haven’t accepted yet. May I know what document are u providing them to prove your divorce as I am also a recent divorcee

I still believe that you should answer YES.

I do not think that you would have any problem answering those questions again.

On the other hand, if you answer no, that could be interpreted as misrepresentation and can cause serious consequences.

hi peoplee! please, I need help.
I got ITA some months back and i submitted all necessary documents. I entered the pool 3 months after my divorce. But i got a mail from cic stating my divorce certificate isn't genuine. So i'm hoping you all could suggest how to tackle this. Do i visit the high court where the proceeding was held to get a detailed letter? What do i need to do pls?

I had never put information regarding my ex husband or my divorce any where. I only mentioned that i am divorced sunce there weren't any further questions on that except for this section.

Get the divorce certificate made from a govt institute like a union council or family law court

You can expedite the process if both of you (your wife and you) appear at tge same time in union council. 3 months are given fir reconciliation.
