If I had to guess it would be a college diploma/certificate. Applying for one of those after a gap of several years is an easy way to get refused.

When applying after a gap of several years, a master's degree at a university is almost always preferable to a diploma or certificate at a college.

So sorry to hear about the refusal, you should order GCMS and see the detailed reasons.
Anw, do you know which department sent you the refusal letter? As some people said they received it from Chinese Embassy, not Edmonton Processing center.
