In progress isn't the same as in process. Your application is in progress from the time you get AOR until they make a decision. In process is when an officer is reviewing your documents to see if you get PR. In process is what you want. It tells you you are in the last step and about to get PPR.

I couldn't concur more to your explanation above. "In process" and "in progress" have different meanings as per When PR applications are been processed. Many at times people misunderstands their meanings, especially when you see it on GCMS notes. At one point I thought my application was already in process as per my GCMS notes, but not updated on ECAS.

Guys,

landed yesterday at Emerson POE, it was smooth.

Took approx 60 minutes because their system was dead slow.

They didn't ask for any supporting docs, just passports and CoPR.

Wish you guys good luck!!!

Just to add to this point:

In Process means :

Eligibility Pass
Medical Pass
Criminality Pass

......

Still Waiting for DM or PPR. It feels awful when I find myself a lone in this wait. Most of forum fellows flew away, it just a few of us left, this feeling is killing me.

I don't want to be a lone. I want all of us to get it together, very soon.

I've seen people in process when their criminality is not passed.

Hi Despatehuman,

It is normal for CIC to request more document from an applicant if the information provided in the application is not clear enough or they need you to submit a document to back the information you had given them. Your status will only change if a visa officer feels you have satisfy at least 70% to 80% of the assesment.

Hi all. I'm in Calgary and I also applied pr under AINP last March, 2014. It was received by CIC on March 5, 2014 so now it's been over a year.
I have no idea what's going on and I've tried to call them a few times but their line is always busy as all know.
So I just emailed them and it will take 35 working days. Well..... Oky I will wait, what else do I have? lol
Medical result and RPRF are done as well. (When I was asked to pay RPRF after two weeks my medical check was sent, I thought It was almost over but well, it wasn't.)

I have a question if there is anyone who can answer here..
I heard from somewhere that medical result is only valid for a year and if then, my medical result will probably be expired next month.
Is this true? if so, what happens after? If not, well never mind.

How are you guys up to?

try to call them before 9am, it works to me every time. all i got from several agents are the case is in process and standard processing time is 17 months, that's all they can tell about my case......

Thanks for your response. That's what I thought that they will say.
They said that it's approximately 17 months for AINP application and I know mine is just over a year but a few people who applied around the same time under the same AINP GOT PR LETTER. I don't understand what makes it different. Technically it should take 5 more months from now on because it's been just over a year (12 months + 5 months = 17 months) Well, I have no clue what's going on.
Is there anybody here who applied pr under AINP in March, 2014 and received PR letter from CIC?
Maybe I'm just being impatient but it makes me feel agitated that I don't know what's going on and I have to stay put until the fogginess clears.

one of my friend applied in march and got ppr last month
