Keept it up guys.

Hopefully we get our desired bands. Here are interesting lessons fromy experience:

I appeared for IELTS academic four years ago, that was in 2011, got 7.5. After that I came immediately to Canada and lived here for the past 4 years. In last January I took the exam again , thought that I will get at least 7-7.5. What happened was a real shock for me. Got only 5.5 speaking, 6 Reading, 6.5 Writing and the only exception was the listening 7.5.

You can clearly see how Overconfidence can lead you to a total and complete failure. Now , there is no dout that English has improved significantly since 2011, but the killing mistake I did was not practicing previous exams and thus not prepare myself to fully get the maximum of my potential. Time management ,in particular is a skill that you can not develop unless you practice a lot.

1. Practice
2.Time management
3.Avoid Overconfidence

Any tips? you can share your experience and practice your writing as well

Two weeks to go. Are you ready. It is hard to believe that two hand half hours can determine your chances to get high mark on Express entry. What are you doing guys, studying hard or relying on your luck :-[

I'm a nervous wreck already! Someone please tell me it's just an exam and not a life/death situation. :(

Sorry boss but the truth it is not just an exam. It's the which can boost your points +50 , I can't find a single factor that is more important than this one.The good thing is it is not only one time shot, you can try as many shots as you want, now this is relaxing..so take it easy my friend , this time or the next, we gonna get this ugly exam down,

Cheers

There isn't a next time for me. I've got to ace it this one time, once and for all and I believe I will.

Goodluck to all of us. Will be back here on the 18th March to share the results, God willing.

I like your determination. Good luck

I am sitting again on March 5. My previous score are

Reading -9
Writing- 6.5
Listening- 7.5
Speaking -7

I am scrambling for 7 in writing to get my clb level 9.

How about Listening, you need 8 for clb9. I think this is the most challenging part

Hey I just took the IELTS General today here in Vancouver DT.

About four years ago I took Academic and got 7. I started preparing for the General about 3 weeks before the test. Mainly to get in the testing mood (very important).

I was really sleepy in the morning so probably missed 2-3 questions in listening. Reading is easier than the Academic which I am very happy about lol. Writing wasn't too difficult either but time management is the key. I found myself a bit rushed towards the end and made some silly mistakes that could have been avoided. The old gentleman who interviewed me for speaking was a bit of a poker face. I wasn't sure if he likes me or not. But in the end he did tell me "keep up with the good work". So I hope this is a good thing?!!!

Best of luck to everyone!

Yea. Same here. Missed 3 questions in the listening part. Reading was dead easy and writing was . . . writing. Time wasn't my friend. I do not know what to make of the speaking. I'm just hoping do the best I really donot want to retake it.

Match 18th cometh. ;D
