Congrats!!

Personally I don't see many benefits to the paper cert unless you wish to frame it, asides from this there isn't a lot IMO.
Paper takes 2-4 weeks to receive.
E-Cert takes 5 days takes to receive.

I assume the paper option is on a nicer bit of a card. If you wish to frame this, that is probably your better option?
E-cert is a document, you print it yourself. So if you are framing this, it won't be as appealing.
You need the certificate either way to apply for your passport. So keep that in mind with the processing times.

Entirely a question of preference.

That said:
-the 'recent' paper certificates (all in last several years) have barcodes (discreet) and a series-code that indicates that photocopies/scans are fine, i.e. no longer need to bring the original to govt. (A family member did this with a scan/print for passport, no problem). So there's not really a disadvantage to the paper certificate apart from the wait.
-My understanding s that the e-cert is quite similar - a PDF, in colour, etc - and if you wanted to get it printed somewhere nice and frame it, would probably work - just take it to a good printer and ask for some appropriate (nice) paper stock. (I've not actually seen the e-cert myself so YMMV)
-Most of the time at in-person ceremonies they seem to hand out the paper on the spot with no choice; a few have reported being asked if they'd like the e-cert (not sure any took them up on it).

Frankly this is all pretty funny - since it seems in most respects the e-cert and paper are very similar if not identical except for one being a printed version of the other (wish I could confirm!), they could just send everyone the e-cert after the ceremony and a nice printed copy later, for the money they charge.

Is anyone else still stuck in LPP? My
Background check was completed in June but since then nothing. Not even a ghost update

Good morning all, my Background check was completed on Aug 28 and today the Language Skills and Physical Presence were completed, but not Prohibitions. I know there isn’t a set pattern for how this process moves forward, but I’m wondering if there’s anything I might be missing, or if anyone else is/was in a similar situation. I’d really appreciate any thoughts, thank you!

Same situation for me. I called and for me it is my wife background check that is stuck in security check since June. They asked for FP in June, sent 2 days later received 2 weeks after. I got my background cleared but my wife no. So we are all stuck with Language and presence done.

Hi everyone, If someone can please guide on what's the earliest time after virtual oath, when we can download e-certificate?

Hey, same here. My background was cleared in june. Afterwards i got presence and language cleared in july. Been 2 and half months now stuck in prohibitions and i cannot figure out why. I have lived elsewhere during the fist year of my eligibility period and provided police certificate, so i can only think of this as reason or possibly because i had travelled extensively. Not sure if you have similar situation?

Exact same situation for me. Wife provided fp in june but her background isnt cleared yet. Mine was. Both our prohibitions remain in process. I think we connected before, you’re in mtl right?
