Need some help here - I’m unable to access my files in ECAS after AOR, tried everything - UCI, application number etc. I called IRCC once and they said they can see it and send me with all these useless instructions. I sent a web form and got generic response not related to my issue. I’m wondering how I can even solve this given I tried every single channel and nobody seems to be able to solve this issue.
exact same situation here! V. frustrating. Let me know if you get any help with this - I would love to know what is happening with my application!

You can now apply online for citizenship and I do not think that you actually have to be inside Canada at time of application submission.

Admin, Please remove my name from the March 2020 sheet. My app package was "lost" (found out only in Dec) - I have applied online just now and will hence be part of the Dec 2020 sheet. Good Luck to one and all!

That is interesting. How did you receive the FP request if you don't mind me asking? Was it email or mail or you saw it on ECAS? Does your ECAS still say In Process?
I have not checked my ecas, but I got the request via email. I called the local RCMP straight away, but they said they no longer do the fingerprinting for citizenship because of covid and gave me the commissionaire's number in Calgary, who they said will do it for me. The only appointment he had available was the 21st of December, so I drove in (100km or so) to get it done. Paid $56, and he (commissionaire) said everything will be sent to RCMP within 48 hours and they will forward it to citizenship office requiring them within the following 72h. I would expect them to have it all already in the Citizenship office by now, however, due to the holidays, maybe not till the next week.

They are asking for finger print because the one that you had last 2010 from your PR is already expired. FP has 10 years of validity since they introduced the Biometrics. If you never left canada since 2010 and never had done FP at the airport.
That makes sense. I've done it on December 22nd through the commissionaire's office who will then forward it to RCMP and then RCMP will forward to the office requiring these.

Hi guys,
Just asking out of curiosity that what are the chances of getting FP request and what is the reason you get it?

No idea. From what I've read on the internet- it's sometimes if the name is similar to someone with a criminal background - they ask for it, but sometimes it is just at random. Someone mentioned here in this forum, if the fingerprints from PR have expired (I've obtained my PR over 10 years ago), they might also ask them to be retaken.

Oh okay. Thank for the reply!

So I called CIC today to know the status of my application, since my ECAS only shows application received date and nothing else. They informed me that the file is in processing, but they can't tell me the exact date it went into processing as the agent didn't have that information. They assured me that everything is okay with my file, but I am still wondering why they don't have all the information available like AOR date and In Process Date on ECAS.

One of my friends who applied in March-2020 got fingerprint request today.
He is not in the tracker.
