Went and provided my Biometrics on 4th June 2020.

Yesterday, 8 June 2020 I received a request to pay my RPRF fees "in order to continue to review the application".
What does this mean as far as where the application is ?

Finally got my BIL and had my medicals passed!! They sent in a request for additional documents last June 2 and I also uploaded that today. A few hours later I got my BIL and medicals confirmed.

What kind of additional documents did they request? Thank you

What does this mean as far as where the application is ?

It’s the right of permanent residence fee. You usually would have paid this with the application fee and biometrics fee at submission. If you haven’t already, then you have to pay it. As you’ll have passed the medical and got biometrics letter, you’ve likely passed R10 check (“IP1” in the somewhat made up system used in immigration fora). You have criminality, eligibility, security and final check to go. These do not proceed in any particular order. You may have passed criminality check (ie police certificates) and they are asking for RPRF before can comment on eligibility. Probably your application will now have been “promoted” to a waiting list, where they’ll check again after a set period of time to see if you’ve paid your outstanding fee. Security checks will likely take the longest.

In terms of the most important question of how long it will all take, no one knows. In normal times, you would expect to get passport request and CoPR by late September or early October 2020 (80% processed within 6 months from R10 check). My inland AOR for PR as provincial nominee was just a couple of days before yours. I haven’t been able to submit biometrics as yet. Typically at this stage you could consider requesting GCMS notes but they’ll still take at least 30 days and I’m not sure ultimately how helpful they are. Basically it’s still just a waiting game!

But good news about getting RPRF request is that they’re processing your application.

Ultimately the correct answer is “no” and anyone saying something else is guessing. See my previous post in this forum. You’re probably in what gets called IP2, but these aren’t real stages and things can happen in different orders. The % tracker just looks at how many days have passed between two dates and divides by 6 months ... ie you’re just over three months since 6 March. It tells you nothing about what’s actually happening with you application.

My guess (!) is you’ve passed the medical and criminality stages, it’s now in a queue to confirm eligibility. This is the A11.2 assessment (see https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/assessing-electronic-application-on-section-a11-2.html). It might be that the security checks are also happening but I don’t know if these happen in parallel or series, and if this varies between applicants.

You could consider requesting GCMS. But it doesn’t really speed anything up and just takes officers’ time away from actually processing applications. Same as raising WebForms to ask about what stages your application has passed. Unfortunately, it’s just lots more waiting. I wish I knew how the impact of federal working restrictions will affect overall processing times, but would be surprised if doesn’t add at least 3 months to many applications. My AOR was also in March 2020 and confirming I passed the medical took 54 days rather than the previous 8-10 days.

For us inland applicants who are waiting for service canada to open (biometrics) does it mean they are not processing our applications yet? No update since BIL received last May 7. Haven't paid for RPRF yet.

Hi; offering a clarification about the comment that GCMS notes takes away the officers time. These notes are processed by a separate team (ATIP division) and in simplistic terms their role is to provide these notes. Correct, that it does help/speed up things.

Paid the RPRF yesterday.
I had finished my police clearances, medicals and submitted all these docs with the application itself. Except that my lawyer didn't pay the RPRF while submission and paid only the Application fees + Biometric fees.
When I enquired as to why he didn't pay the whole thing lumpsum, he replied saying that it is not required to be paid together. Anyways, I was fine with it.
Right after payment of the RPRF I got the application screenshot, and it showed that the Medicals and Biometrics are passed and completed.
However, it said that Eligibility and background is being reviewed and processed.

Hi guys, I got a question with my Biometrics info. As required by IRCC, anyone who applies for permanent residency for the first time must provide their biometric info no matter if they have given the info before for other type of visas, eg. student, visitor.

I came to Canada last year as an international student and gave my Biometrics info in my country to get student visa last year, my EE application is being processed right now. I'm still waiting for a notice asking me to give my Biometrics for the PR application. However, this morning I noticed that my Biometrics info has been filled with the Biometrics info i gave last year for the student visa. My spouse, who never gave her Biometrics, her info is still blank.

I'm confused since I consider I should give a new Biometrics for my PR application but it seems that IRCC doesn't need and they just use old info.
