I’ve attended the citizenship ceremony yesterday and took the oath! It’s a great feeling to be a citizen of this wonderful country!! And so grateful that this long journey has finally ended!!

hello everyone. does anyone also have long wait time for security sreening? I have done my test on Aug.20 in Calgary and was told by the officer that they need to get security screening done before they send me the invite to oath. But it has been almost 3 months. Is it normal? thanks in advance.

it has been one month for me, and still waiting.
did you try to call to check why it’s taking that long ? Is your ECAS showing IP or DM ?

Hi Everyone,
My family and I became Canadian citizens yesterday...Oath ceremony held yesterday in Calgary. PR cards dropped... citizenship certificates received... passports loading...
This long journey which started from PR application date in May 2014 has come to an end in Nov 2019. Here come the privileges of having the citizenship of a great country as Canada.
Thanks all for your contributions at the tail end of the journey. I wish all those who are still in the process the very best ahead.

So officially Canadian as of yesterday!! Took the Oath in Calgary.

I want to thank everyone in this forum for this long journey started from sponsorship to citizenship. This forum has given me a lot of reassurance and answer to my anxiety. Thank you again.
Now going to apply for the Candian Passport next week I feel proud and the same time looking at my Indian passport, feel sorry that I need to surrender it. All the best to you and your family.

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. Just I want to share here something about my situation. My Citizenship process has started since July 30. And there is no any update. I don't know how much I have to wait to complete this process. If you call them or send email there is no answer to feel good yourself. Just the answer you should wait if we need something we will contact you. Why I want to share my things here really I dont know )) . But its weird. I'm living in Toronto.

my ECAS still showing IP. probably gonna call them next week, but really don't think that will help^_^
