Update on my situation - I didn't realize that you have to be in Canada to take the test, so now the BIG PROBLEM for me is I'm still in Alaska with my partner, and I was not planning to go back to Canada till June 2021. Not sure what I should do now.
I could 1). go back to Canada in a rush and complete the online test. However I'd have to wait until I finally get the Canadian passport to be able to see my partner in US again, no idea how long it gonna take. I also don't have a place to live in Canada at this moment. (my partner is not Canadian so he can't come with me).
2). give up on this online test and wait until in-person test resumes. However no idea when that will be either :( Still have to fly back to Canada on short notice when that happens.
Any suggestions or insights on what's a better option? I really appreciate it!

any chance you can cross over into the Yukon for a day to take the test? Why won’t you be able o cross back into the US?

I would have said use a VPN but many services can recognize that you’re doing that and will block you

Hello all, After a really long wait, I received an email of notification about appearing for my online citizenship test and have 21 days to complete it.....I remember, they sent me my first invite in January 2020 and I missed it, I never received an email or nothing.....it was just simply updated on my CIC profile....well, after 12 months I receive this invite.....All the best for the others who are still waiting...I had sent out my Citizenship application in March 2019.

This is a great news.

Can you share the test invitation letter with your personal information hidden?

I received AOR on 30 may 2019, in process since July 2019. No test invite for me :(( I am match applicant

My wife recently applied for citizenship. There was a question whether she filed taxes in the last 5 years. She did for 2017, 2018 and 2019 and she marked as yes for both required to file and taxes filed. This was done with help from CRA. However did she also have to mention 2016 and 2015. She immigrated to Canada in August of 2017. Was never in Canada before that. So she only mentioned those 3 years.

Looking for anyone with same experience to answer. If they got AOR.

Thanks for replying nicolass. Unfortunately I can't cross over into Yukon because the land border is closed for both directions. I don't want to risk using the VPN, I suppose if they find out that can mean big troubles

Hey there! Please refrain from using the VPN because :-
A. Any official can easily deduce your presence/absence in Canada by verifying the passport stamps or entry/exit records on close scrutiny.
B. When they have clearly mentioned that the applicant needs to be within Canada and people try to circumvent it you are automatically trying to defraud the system which could render you disqualified and may have serious consequences.

Henceforth I would suggest to wait longer and approach the whole process with honesty because delays would not deny you citizenship but wrongful actions can. All the best and hope you get your citizenship soon .

All of you who worry and can't sleep at night remember one thing: there are people out there like me, from the Kitchener region. You will all get your passports and continue with your lives, but we from the Kitchener region - we will still be here, typing, waiting...
Yup still waiting

if you have a valid PR, Fly in to take the test, go back, then Fly in again when they call you for Oath and passport, some expences but it is worth it.

Proud canadian... just finished my virtual oath
Hello Harrycanada871,
Congratulations on your Citizenship
I just gave and passed my Citizenship last night, please tell me what will be the next steps.

I am assuming that you gave your Citizenship test online as well, how long after giving the test did you have to wait for the virtual oath?

Please let me know. Thank you...

It's good news guys they reopen citizenship test in virtual from this month so wait for email to get it. I called CIC, and they told me they will do the test online.
