I do not think so, he just got test invite pretty quickly that'sit. Pretty sure if he calls them they will robotically remind him about 1 year processing time. I have completed my test on September 10 next day - decision was made, during the interview the officer told me to expect to receive an oath sometime in February/ March.

I do not think his case is abnormal - but do not think calling will help, however he can still call just to be on safe side

Thanks for sharing your experience, it is very strange to get the decision made early and still hold you to complete the 12 months period, most of people complete Exam Invitation to Oath Ceremony in period of 3 months.

Hi seniors can you please provide me your guidance

I am Canadian permanent resident.I am out of Canada since last 3 months . Do you think this will affect my citizenship approval?
Also last time I entered Canada the officer didn’t stamp the date on my passport. Is this their normal procedure or do you think he forgot to stamp?
Thanks

Yes Outdoor is correct. My earlier process just went by faster than usual. At my interview, I was told that since everything else went by fast, I still have to keep in mind that they still follow the 12month process. He told me that I should expect to take the oath between January and February 2019. Thank you guys for your tips though.

Under the previous citizenship law an applicant had to show an intent to live permanently in Canada after submitting the citizenship application, and for this reason the Citizenship Department would carefully scrutinize an applicant’s travel history after the submission of the citizenship application. They got rid of this requirement in the current citizenship law, so your travel history after the submission of your citizenship application is no longer relevant. (This is my lawyer reply to the same question).

Regarding the stamp it is not an issue, I have one stamp only in my recent passport used many times since 2015. boarder data is digitalized.

Hey guys,
My application shows decision made so i am just waiting for the call for oath ceremony.
If i want to move to a new address(within same city), do i have to update the address in the system?
I was thinking that as the application is complete now so we dont have to update the address? Any thoughts?
PS: Even though i change my address i can get my mails from my old adress

Thanks

Ok, so after passing test on December 6 in Montreal I kept monitoring status online, but it says still "In Process".

I was a little concerned, because for most people DM goes right after the test. So I called IRCC today and asked to check my file. From what I understood they haven't even updated in the system that I passed the test, that's why there's no DM yet and no moving forward.

Fingers crossed it will be done soon!! I am so sick of waiting!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Well, not much, she put me on hold and told me what I wrote before. That she sees in her system that I haven't yet passed the test AKA my file is sitting somewhere in Montreal and hasn't been put into the system yet.

Happy New year!

A quick update. My wife and I had our test and interview this morning (Location: Kitchener). Both scored 20/20. The test was straight forward. We went through the book twice (strongly recommended) and took a few free online practice tests. Interview took about 10-15 mins. The officer verified all original documents against our application and checked for few stamps on the passport for travel (not all).

The officer indicated that Oath should likely be in early Feb aka. next batch (since we requested urgent processing in early Dec 2018). Thanks everyone. Good luck!
