Seriously, everyone needs to chill. Please be aware of selective perception:
You only see the cases that move faster than normal, you only read and worry about why they are so fast. Meanwhile your brain ignores the majority of cases that are still in process. That's like only seeing that one person making more money than you but not seeing the many many people who make less money than you.

Look at the spreadsheets and you will see most people are still in process. There is no ATIP request, no call, no worrying about some random detail in your application that will make your application go faster.

Situation:
Think of being at city hall, 100 people waiting to be called. They told you "you have to wait for an hour normally". But 30 minutes in, about 20 people's names were already called.

Some forum members here:
OMG I wonder what is wrong with me? Is it because I didn't say "hello" when I walked in? Am I sitting in the wrong corner of the waiting room? Let me run to the counter and ask what's up.

What you should think instead:
Well, they told me it will take one hour, and so far only 20/100 people have been called, so probably everything is normal. Good for those who got called early, but that always happens, nothing unusual here.

I don't want to get too meta, but comparing yourself to others too much can drive you insane, don't overdo it. There is always someone whose citizenship application got processed faster, there is always someone who got a better deal on that flight, there is always someone who got that last ticket for the Lady Gaga concert.

Is it worth freaking out about it? No.

It's pretty sunny in most of Canada today, grab a coffee with a friend, no AOR needed!

You are right on the other hand. If I have to go out of country I would worry for the application other ways I wont care for timeline. Lets hope for best.

Dear Admin,
Good news is that my letter of invitation to take part in the citizenship oath ceremony arrived on November 16, 2018. Please update my information in the spreadsheet. The oath ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 5, 2018. My special and heart felt thanks go to you and all members here in this forum who shared with me their experiences of the path to citizenship in each step all these months. I wish you all the best of luck in your Canadian life.

Oath Invitation Notice - November 9
Oath Date - December 28.

Few friend of my had exam after I got DM, and they still managed to get oath before. How come calgary office? I had my exam in Aug for DM in med OCT. Still waiting

Any news?
Nah... Nothing new and nothing hopefull... just Oath invitations for February cohort... next week I'll make a decision about buying or not buying a plain ticket for a Dec/Jan trip... I cannot wait anymore. All December looks booked, which is ok! People are getting invitations even 6 weeks before the ceremony. There are only 5 weeks left from this year, so, according to the officer I spoke with, you are supposed to get the invitation at least 2 weeks before... so from the 15 ceremonies are going to be held we are narrow down to 9... if this week nothing is gonna happen, less likely is gonna happen for 2018, in my case.

Is my situation normal?
I am in process since june 25 no test invitation yet.
I live in montreal

Same here, in Montreal, In process in May 30, no news. A friend applying at the same time had his test in July :)

I was a bit anxious because I have to travel in December, but I have received my new PR card (super lengthy and tiring process as well), so I tend to relax now.

Hi, do you also have any changes on ECAS? By what time of the day did you get the email?

Hi CalgarySpring,

Please apologize me for the delayed response. I didn't check forum messages for a while.

Anyway, we have received Oath Ceremony email on Nov 9th at 4:23 PM and my ECAS shows as below.

We sent you a notice on November 9, 2018, to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on December 28, 2018, at 10:30 AM. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

Hi sarayu,

Thank you so much for reply. I was stressed out of not getting the email with the oath invitation and I didn't actually know that is gonna be posted on Ecas as well. Now I can double check there too.

Congratulations for oath invitation, a long process that now has come to an end! Hopefully all of us will be there soon! ;) ^_^
