Hey, how much time does CIC give from COPR to landing? Is it 30 days?
Also, once you have landed but don't have the PR card yet, is there any restriction on international travel?
The CoPR will be valid until your medicals/passport expires, whichever is earlier. You have to land before that.

Once you land you are free to travel outside at anytime, however to re-enter Canada you will need a PR card or PRTD.

wow, a quick follow up question - My medicals expired during the processing of my PR, back in May. But the status says "You passed the medical exam". Will I be asked to retake my medicals?

I have gotten my PPR by the way and sent my passport last week to Ottawa.

They must have extended your medicals then.

Called CIC call center just now.

The agent was very helpful and informed that application is at CIO.
However, Eligibility is still in progress and BGC has not been starter yet. :(

ITA: 14 March, 2018
AoR: March 31.
IP2: 13th June.

did you tell the agent that the website says 'We are performing your background check'?

What does this mean? So they might not ask me to retake the medicals then?
It is at their discretion, sometimes they ask to re do the medicals sometimes they don’t. Since you’ve got PPR after your medicals expired in May I think they most probably would have extended your medicals.

Its 13-June-2018

Okay...see as per the trend I believe before the end of this month or by the mid week or next month all of those moved to IP2 should receive PPR request. " March AOR"

Best rest assured your file is moving forward. Courtsey - "GCMS Notes"

Well background and security will clear of faster now.

CIO stands for central intake office. And SS is handled by different agencies, it is not something which is handled by visa office.

Hi @hope2018,

As per my GCMS notes, my application is with Primary Office CPC Ottawa and Secondary Office, CIO.
It has also gone through OSC Ottawa...

Current status: IP 1 / Recommended Pass

Do you know what each of the offices is responsible for?

Tks in advance!

Hi Guys, I just PPR today. I received 3 separate passport request letters for each member of my family. Each letter is asking for a return envelope. Can anyone please let me know, is one common return envelope sufficient, or do we need to send 3 separate return envelope. BTW i reside in US and will be sending by Fedex. appreciate your help!
