Hi guys, I officially landed today as a Canadian PR! We drove to Niagara Falls and then parked the car and walked across the Rainbow Bridge and back. Did not have to interact with US border at all. Got to CBSA and they sent us off to secondary. We waited for 2.5 hours before I was called up. My interviewer asked if I had any criminal history, any dependents, and if I'd ever been refused entry to Canada. No to all 3 questions. We waited 5 more minutes then my papers were stamped and I was welcomed to Canada as PR! Our agent was very nice and helpful, he explained how to go about getting SIN, drivers license and OHIP without prompting. I am going tomorrow to Service Ontario to start the process. Praying for everyone to be landed and reunited with their loved ones ASAP!

Congratulations! My wife is planning to do the same landing procedure at Niagara Falls next week.

Just 1 Q - Was your spouse allowed to accompany you during this entire process?

I am a Canadian PR and wish to accompany my wife during her landing formalities at the Niagara border, hence asked.

Cheers!

Got my SA email this morning at 0749 PDT

Application Sent: March 24
Received: March 29
AOR1: April 21
SA: May 16
Spouse: USA (Texas)
Myself: BC

Do we wait for them to ask for the FBI Check or should we go ahead and send it to the Ottawa CPC? I believe I read we should wait for them to ask but I just want to make sure as I can't find anything current.

Edit: Okay I found their FAQ and it lists an address to send it to. Do we put the UCI and the Application id (F0000***) on there or does the Application Id not transfer over?

Have you checked ECAS? Any updates on it?

I imagine they are rushing the american applicants so they don't have to deal with Trump ;)

at least it's easy for an american spouse to visit.. my case, my wife is an arab.. need a visitor visa to visit, almost no chance to get it approval during PR process. i am not going to lie; we are a newly wed; this really affects me emotionally... i tried to think very positive everyday; that's how i can sleep at night.. i guess.

Hang in there it will come soon.

I had to wait 47 days just for my AOR1. I have a wife and almost 1 year old daughter in Vietnam. I have to remain a total of at least 183 days in Canada for tax purposes so I split it up into 2 trips a year travelling to Vietnam and staying 3 months each.

I know the feeling of wanting to be with the people you love.

You can still apply for visitor visa though. It may be a slim hope if it gets approved but any hope is better than just waiting around. I'm still fighting myself whether I want to apply for visitor visa too. She's got 0 ties to Vietnam. No land, bank account, job. Her only family in Canada is me and I guess our daughter which would be the strongest ties. Don't know if I should apply anyways.

SA here too, no change online yet
