Congratulations! Have you tried calling CIC to confirm if it's genuine? I hope for your sake that it is! Good luck.

I just did. It was apparently approved even more quickly than I thought. COPR was mailed on Thursday, April 28th, two days after file transfer to Ottawa VO. This is so unreal that I think the speculation that it's due to training a lot of new officers is the only plausible application. The CIC call centre agent actually checked with a few others because she found this so unbelievable, and said it was the fastest approval they had ever seen.

Thank you. I still assume it was a fluke of some kind, but it would be wonderful to see this kind of processing speed become the norm, or at least closer to it.

Well, five applicants from February have also received DM. Even that is unheard of... and a lot of November/December applicants seem to be receiving DM or have received DM from Ottawa. I think the only month without more than one DM from before March is January. I think we might be looking at very fast processing times for this summer through Ottawa. Congratulations on your confirmed COPR. I'm so jealous! :P

OMG wow, Congrats!! ;D :D

We have the same situation, sponsoring my American spouse, we got SA on April 19. I just checked eCAS and it shows "Decision Made" under the PR section. Would you be so kind as to share the phone number of the call centre you spoke with? We'd like to call too.

Thanks so much!

Thank you and congratulations! :D If you're outside Canada, you can call 613.944.4000 and follow the prompts for immigration, which will transfer you to CIC. We only had about a 15 minute wait on the phone, too. :) :) :)

Hey guys I just called cic now cuz i still haven't received SA so they said its still on review because I have done previous sponsorship before and they are waiting for Social security for some documents.

Do you know how long this would take for Social security to send cic documents from my previous sponsorship??

ughhhh i feel so worried

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, I have applied for a PR on March 2016 through my wife, who is a canadian citizen.
I have so far recieved Aor 1, SA and Aor 2 from NDVO.

I recently noticed that, my status is in process and have all the three lines updated and medical has been recieved.

When I went through this forum, it said, the next step would be ppr and it would be grateful, if anyone of the same timeline can share, what to expect next from ndvo. If this means, i have passed medical and eligiblity!?

Thanks.

Yay!! Congrats to you and yours. We'll all take this as a good sign and maybe even a better summer.

Woo hoo! Great news. Do you mind me asking if you're application was straight forward, children involved etc :) Thanks so much in advance!

Ottawa. Me sponsoring my American spouse. But I'm fairly convinced the DM is an error. Still, I wanted to record it on the spreadsheet since I brought it up in one thread and it's been brought up in others. eCas started showing "Decision Made" as the status of the PA's application, but the actual detailed summary does not state that a decision was made. It seems very unlikely to me, but that's still the situation after a few days. Someone suggested that as part of training the new hires they might be working through easy applications one by one, which if you look at the DM dates, seems plausible enough. It looks like there's been an Ottawa DM every day or two. But still, I'm skeptical and encourage everyone else to be, too. That's why I noted it was likely an error in the notes column.

well.. that's a great news then.. i think this is cuz of American spouse.. other part of regions? not so lucky.. you have heard of "beyond the border" initiative. like basically Canada and the US are sharing a lot of immigration stuff now. so everything is streamlining now.

We just tried calling the number, but the agent refused to even look up the application as we are well within the 16 month average processing time. We were told that even though our PR application status shows on eCAS as "Decision Made" does not mean a "final" decision has been made.

I think you got lucky with a helpful call centre agent, and our fingers are crossed that this new lightning quick Ottawa processing speed is true!

;D :D

Ergh. I just said that I was calling to confirm the status eCas was showing because it said "Decision Made" and that seemed like an error to me. They insisted it must just be SA, but I said I knew when that had occurred, and I just needed them to confirm the status of the Principal Applicant's application. There was a bit more hemming and hawing about it probably being SA, but then she looked it up, maybe just out of curiosity. Sorry you couldn't get information! I hope that if you end up calling again, you'll get someone more helpful. I hope you get COPR soon :D

I'm hoping our application is straight forward, and yes we have two Canadian children together. The only possible complication is a criminal charge he had in the States from 15 years ago, which we had to get approval from the Minister of Immigration for my partner to be considered "rehabilitated". He wasn't even able to enter Canada for the first year of our relationship, but once the Minister approved his rehabilitation he was able to get a Visitor Visa. We're praying he's in the clear now to be approved for PR.
