Our citizenship journey is complete.

We, along with 75 other new citizens took our oath at the CIC office here in Ottawa today. The ceremony was short but meaningful, kudos to the CIC officers as well.

To all those who are still waiting, don't lose hope and your turn will come, in the proper appointed time.

Thanks to all in this forum who help provided information and encouragement.

God bless everyone.

Hey ONAP,
1) How was your test at Mississauga? Mine is next Monday morning
2) Did the officer tell you if your application is approved and now you just wait for the oath?

Cheers

Hello,

Can someone please update my timeline I have the test next week Dec 1, anyone one have experience requesting an expedited citizenship ceremony? I live in US and for some health situation I may not be able to make it for the oath ceremony at least until the end of March, I'm thinking requesting the CO for a earlier date not sure if he have the authority to give me an answer on the test interview? Any advice?

I don't think that there is a expedited citizenship ceremony, and I wouldn't mention that you live outside of canada that will kill your application

Jarrodz I finished my test and interview Aug 31. I requested for an earlier oath date due to a job opening in the middle east. But the CO did not oblige. I am still waiting for the oath and its almost 3 months now.

I would really avoid disclosing you live out of Canada if you are not asked by the CO. Just take your test, wait for the Decision Made to show up, then give CIC a quick call to let them know you are going to be on a trip until late March. Although another option is to not call them at all and wait for them to schedule your Oath (who knows, it might come after end March), if they schedule it before and you still can not show up that date, give them a call prior your Oath to postpone it.

I would personally do this if I were in your shoe.
