BTW - may be applicable to some of you - I've gone through legal name change before applying for citizenship and once the status updated, i had to use my updated last name in order to log into ecas. And the name there is now updated as well.

Congratulations. I sent my application exactly 2 weeks after you. Hopefully I get the in process status soon! Fingers crossed people.

By the way, it seems that officers at CIC are processing the applications received till 17 March 2015. Just informing, to bring a sign of relief!!! We all know that eCAS is not updated regularly ....

Try with your client ID (ID No) at the front of your PR in the format of 9999-9999. if you haven't found anything you need to wait a little more or contact them to check on that. sometimes the application get returned due to minor missing requirement as happened to me and you'll need to resubmit.

Hey YM, how did u checked ur ecas. Bcoz i m trying using my PR number in format of PA9999999 and i dont see any update. And even i haven't yet recieved any email for AOR.

Hi Guys Need some urgent please in making documentation for my May application:

I am applying on 25th may which leaves me no chance of any error or mistake in the application, and with any documents needed.... so I need some help and advice here please


1) should I send as much as possible documents (like house lease, and CRA assessments or T4)
2) What exactly is required when they ask about children education record? (report cards and/or attendance record etc...?) need clarification plz..!
3) I have a long name as per my passport, so CIC shortened my name on my PR and license etc...! now I need to fix remove some middle name so my full name is there...! is it ok to do so?? coz they said on the form (subject to CIC approval) I am afraid it might take more time or additional questions and proofs etc...!
4) when I send my application to Sydney (on adults) address, how about my kids application? since I am applying for them too, so should I send on the same address or send two different envelopes? coz for minors they have different address...!!!! (so very confusing as if I apply for kids where the kids application would go???

- This has been a long and heated debate on the matter, my personal opinion is do not include additional things and send only what is requested. There are people on both sides. Below is the thread where the conversation was held you can read through various member opinions and make your own conclusion but again my personal opinion is stick to the checklist.

- I believe report cards and attendance records both can be presented for this.

For 4 - You can the applications for your entire family (including children) in one package to the Citizenship Adult applications address.

These are my personal opinion and suggestions. I myself have followed them and suggested to many other applicants -

1. Send only those documents which have been asked. One need not send extra documents as it may create more queries.
2. Report cards and transcripts of each class (last 4 years) is sufficient.
3. Put your name as per 'Landing Documents' and tick 3(B) on 'Truncated name on Immigration Document'. Subject to approval ...... clause is to inform you that they may (or may not) accept your request!! Put your complete name in 3(B) and 3(C). (FYI - There is a maximum number of characters that can be fed in the computer system, so per force authorities shorten the names).
4. Send all the filled up applications to 'Adult Application Address'. Make sure they children's application are with your application and are in the same cover. The address mentioned for children is when you are applying 'only' for children.

NOPE, please don't do that. It's time to call CIC and ask about the application status. Tell them that you have sent your application via xyz post/courier. Don't get surprised if they say that your application is not traceable. Ask them if "they (CIC) want me to re-send the application!!"

On the other hand, have patience. You waited patiently for last so many years. Many of us have not received AOR, IP status, Exam dates, Interview, Oath ....blah blah blah ..... The problem is, there is no definite path that CIC is following ....Everything is based on our guesses and predictions. We have to 'just' wait and update the tracker as & when it happens!!

I haven't received any AOR yet and even ecas is not yet updated.

I was scared to call CIC after hearing stories from people that it take 2-3 hrs to get contact of an Agent and never had so much time in spare. So finally i took the challenge, and made the call. But let you guys know in my surprise i had to make 3 calls in total, first 2 calls got disconnected saying long waits and call later. But 3rd one finally go through and then wait time was 12 mins. So guys i wud say it was after all not so bad.

But after talking to agent, she said their is no information in system, also she said they are still working on applications that were received in FEB, so give 2-3 more weeks before taking any action.

Looks like my file might be sitting on someone's desk way down in the pile
