Hi everybody,

Here is my timeline:

1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 22, 2015.
2.We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 1, 2015.
3.We started processing your application on May 28, 2015.
4.Your file was transferred to the office responsible for your area on June 11, 2015. The office responsible for your area will contact you.

So ..... could somebody tell me what happen next ?I've been waiting for more than 1 month, but still haven't received any letter from CIC .

Hi,

You're NOT right about the new CIC processing times. You will see the tone used by the CIC is very qualified. That's why those numbers are mentioned as merely "estimates" for 80% of the cases, so actual times may still vary. As for why the April 1st cut-off date? That's because the fiscal year (used by govt.) runs from April 1st through March 31, and according to its projections announced last year, CIC had promised to bring processing times for routine apps. to less than 1 year starting current fiscal year ( 2015-2016). The cut-off date is merely a mark that tells you how CIC's projection for faster processing standards is performing. And so far CIC does seem to be on taget for reducing processing times. The April 1st doesn't bring you any good or bad luck!

So basically what means is estimated processing times for routine apps. has dropped from previous 24 mo to 12 mo now. However, some 20% applicants would still experience delays of some sorts with RQers experiencing delays of 36 mo or even more!

Hope that explains your question.

Thanks for your reply.

However, I'm not convinced at all. At the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/cit-processing.asp there is a strange rectangle that states: "These applicants can expect a decision by March 31, 2016 or 24 months after applying, whichever date comes first.".

And that rectangle refers only to applications before April 1, 2015 (routine applications).

Hi neutral,

You don't know what you're talking about!
BTW the rectangle thing is called a footnote and what that means is that you can "expect" a decision on or before 31 March 2016.

Say you're a Dec.2014 applicant, so your 2 dates would be March 31,2016 or Dec. 2016 (counting 24 mo), but since March 31,2016 is the earlier of the 2 dates, only that would count in your case.

I hope you get it this time.

Yeah, we agree :-*

That applies only to applicants before April 1st, 2015 as the applicants on or after April 1st are supposed to finish their cases in maximum 1 year (routine apps obviously).

Just read on the CIC web site that eCAS is updated every Tuesday. So I guess no point in checking it daily as I have been.

E-cas can update any time during the week. It happened with me and for some as well in this forum.

Hello all,

I'm new here and first of all thanks for this excellent thread everyone. Congrats to all those who have their test dates/Oath dates.
I'm still trying to figure out how to add a signature, but here are my details. (Applied from Scarborough, ON)
Application received - 9th March 2015
AOR received - 25th March 2015
In process - 22nd June 2015.

I looked at the spreadsheet and looks like most people's applications were trasferred to their local offices within a few days. But mine has been stuck in process for a month now :( . Wondering if this means any red flags? Any experience folks who could comment on this? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

We got a RQ back in April, just at about the time our file got transferred to Vancouver and was put "In process"
We had more absences but due to the work situation, we are still eligible to apply. So we filled out the RQ and send it back, not knowing how long it will take to hear back from them.

Now we got a letter from CIC Vancouver that we are invited to the Citizenship test on July 27th.
Does that mean our RQ got through?
Unfortunately, we are away on vacation and business trip, so we can't attend the test. I called and we have to send in an explanation why we are away and reschedule. There is nothing I can do from overseas now.... I sure hope it all goes smooth and we can reschedule soon.

By the way, on the spreadsheet, we are third in line, Family Application from Vancouver with a RQ, coloured red. For some reason, my name got changed.
I am not "toront", but Rakiura74.
Don't know why thiu happened.

I am not sure who changed your name, but the color red indicates that you were issued RQ. Congrats on getting your test invitation.

Cheers,

Congratulations Rakuira on the test invite. Vancouver is moving fast.... Hope Mississauga also starts to move, even if gradual.

Thank you all! I sure hope it goes smooth from here. I will let you know.
I hope your application moves quickly too!

Started processing on June 4, 2015.
Transferred to the office responsible for your area on June 18, 2015.

If I were in your position, I would renew Pr card. When I renewed last time they took 3-4 months for that too. Please check the timeline for the same as below:
