Haha no, I was just wondering how some people got interview before in process.
You're asking something that only an agent can really tell you. If they're requesting an interview obviously they've looked through your file. The question is, at what stage are they required to update ecas? Immediately when they open the file for the first time? Or after starting one of the background checks? The thing is that we assume that there is some sort of exact procedure that is followed and done the same with each application, when really there probably isn't. I bet there are guidelines but I'm sure each agent has their own system that they follow and none of them are the exact same.

I believe NO! as I read many blogs, they will just request us to be interviewed if there are suspicious documents that we sent to them.

Hey I have a question, how are some VOs able to send interview requests before the PR application goes to "In Process"? How are they able to make a determination that an interview is required without even going through the application?
they don't update it for some reason I know someone who got visa after four month without nothing changing on her Ecas . Behind the scenes they are working I guess , they don't care much about updating Ecas

To myke and agarand8:
As an aspie going through this process, I couldn't help but obsess over it so I've spent many sleepless nights looking for this kind of information and this is what I've gathered so far:

Our applications go through a few "default steps" when they get to our Visa Officers desks after being in queue for a few weeks or months (depending on your VO) and the first step is the eligibility check, this is when they try to determine if your relationship is genuine or not. And after studying your relationship proofs, they will decide if additional proofs or if an interview is necessary to proceed with the application. If so, they will send you an e-mail and place your case into the interview queue, your status will be changed to '!in Process' after the interview. If an interview isn't required, your status will also go to 'in Process' and they'll move on to the background and security check.

I understand that the system isn't always consistent, they don't always update ECAS, and it also changes from VO to VO and from time to time, but I've seen many cases that follow this pattern. Including my own.

Ah I see, so they just don't update on ecas very quickly huh?

@Ellasg: So I guess "In Process" doesn't mean they're starting to look at your application, it just means that you've passed the eligibility stage

Yeah, long story short. ;D
Honestly, the 'In Process' update was the most important to me, I couldn't stop shaking after I saw that line because I knew that it meant more than 'In Process'. But I was simply trusting the pattern in my Visa Office's most recent applications, that's your most reliable source of information.

I'd say it was good timing, it's been faster than I expected!
And your SA was fast as well! I hope you hear from them soon, I have worked with so many Filipinas in Japan and they're all so friendly, I wish you all a speedy process so I can work with you in Canada too! :p

Wow if that is true then getting to see the in progress is huge. That would be awesome to see that. Probably my biggest worry in this whole process is the interview request. They could request documents like 6 times, redo medicals and take the full 16 months to process, as long as they don't request an interview I would be happy.

Hi everyone,
I got my AOR and SA on 8th and 13th of May respectively. I am now waiting for AOR2 which I am expecting to get in the next 1-2 weeks.I have few queries. Just wonder if any one can suggest something :-

1. As i read from previous threads, while mailing regarding AOR2,NVDO asks for Right of Permanent Residence Fee ,PCC and Medical if not already done.I have done everything upfront and i do have their receipts as proof. What am supposed to do in this case?? I read somewhere that it is an automatically generated mail and we don't have to respond for the same while few have suggested to send the copy of receipts to NDVO with a cover letter explaining the things. I am confused what should be done?? Please suggest.

2. I received my AOR on 8th of May and SA on 13th of May. I believe that my medicals would also have been received by them since my Medical was done on 2nd of March. But i do not see any update on e-cas. It only shows that the application has been received. Is it normal or should i call CIC to check whether they have received my medical???

Thanks
