Thanks a lot! I'm not sure its a good sign or not, because that update happened on the same day I got AOR #1, in Misissisauga. I don't know how they can decide to shred the extra stuff when it hasn't gotten to Singapore VO. How are things going with your file? Did you get a decision yet?

So, you don't have any notes from SVO in GCMS notes?

I can be mistaken but as far I know, CPC-M only verifies the completeness of the whole package and SVO assesses the outcome of the application.

Having said that, your package is pretty solid one, so cheers buddy(& no need to panic)..

if you want people to know what they say, it may be better to copy and paste the information in this thread, not just a link. when i clicked on the link it took me to the last page on that thread. i am not sure what page your post is on...

How long did it take to get your notes from the time you requested it?

It took about 30 calendar days. It's really exciting I have to say, to scroll to the final page where the officer writes his personal notes, you never know what they will say!

well i think if they are shredding stuff then most likely they dont need it so maybe it means you have enough proof. it would make sense to me. I think they would not shred it if they thought it was needed for an appeal or something. Who knows i am just getting more confused with cic methodology lol. With me things are still the same ...no news at all...on ecas all it says application received on april 10th and medical received....i will send request for caips tomorrow most likely. I wish i send for it before the interview but had no idea it was going to be so fast as there was no indication on ecas.

Yes I hope that's what it is. Best of luck to you, hope the CAIPS notes says better things for you.

Yes I know CPC-M verifies completeness of package, but I thought that means they only check to see if the sponsor and the applicant have all the required forms and documents, I didn't think the chats were something they needed to check until it gets to Singapore. Well either way, I'm glad at least they looked in my file. Now I get the pleasure of viewing the GCMS notes every 2 weeks and scrolling to the very bottom to check if any new notes were written. I'm more interested in what they have to say about our relationship, and if they think we have some red flags.

according to cic website,

Processing Times: Family Sponsorship

This information is updated weekly (step 1) and quarterly (step 2) and shows the time it takes to process an application after we receive a complete application package.

There are two steps in processing family sponsorship applications. In order to know the total approximate time it may take for your application to be processed, ADD the time in step 1 to the time in step 2 (the two steps are consecutive).

Last update: July 2, 2014

Step 2 update quarterly?does it mean every 3 months?then whats the point that we keeping checking?

there is no point to checking the processing time regularly, because as you pointed out it is only updated 4 times a year. This is why following the spreadsheets on this forum is a preferred way to keep track of how the process is going per visa office. Even though it is a small sampling compared to the amount of applications received, our spreadsheets at least give us a better idea of what the current "trend" is. Those who continuoulsy check the cic website will ultimately be disappointed, as it is NOT a true indicator of how applications are being processed TODAY. It is based on statisics from the past, and it's not based on an "average".

thought it depends on different vo yea?

what does? the length of processing, sure absolutely! when the information is updated on the website? My guess is no, they input all the information at the same time. When checking the processing times for VO online, you have to scroll to your specific country to see how long processing takes. Obviously the statistics are specific for EACH visa office it is listed under.

have you looked for a hong kong visa office thread that may be able to help you figure out what to expect? There may very well be a spreadsheet already tracking progress. 7 months from april is Octoberish.

did already, people didnt really update in that thread:(

it still pulls the reader to the last page of the thread. since there are different audiences for each thread, and not all applicants on this thread are from singapore, i doubt people will know/care the information has been posted twice. As it stands right now, the link does not bring us to the particular post you want us to read.
