Hi Guys,

Just tried to call CIC call got disconnected a couple of times due to call volume has this happened to anyone before

Just need to ask few questions. I have received a letter on April 25, 2013 from CIC stated that my file has been referred to a Citizenship Judge for a hearing to determine if you meet the residency requirements set out in the Citizenship Act. In addition, they have mentioned that hearing can take 24 to 30 months.

It has been 16 months since I received this letter.

Q.1) Does that mean I have failed the Citizenship Test or I have not completed the requirement of days while filing the application?

I have lived in Canada for over 3 years when I applied for Citizenship.



Q.2) Any possibility of Judge hearing before the mentioned time? Anyone here with the similar scenario/case, please share their timeline?

I don't think you have failed the test please check out this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=361&t=5 it says that if you fail your test they ask you take it again.

i think there might be some eligibility issue you have to remain in Canada for 1095 days after you receive your PR or the date on the PR card.

in case if you have failed the test please make sure you read the discover Canada book before you go also take all your documents proving that you have been in Canada for more than three years. Also take all passports that you have after you landed in Canada.

What i would do in this case is definitely consult an immigration lawyer.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on March 17, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on April 29, 2014.

We sent you a notice on July 11, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on July 29, 2014 at 12:45 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

You became a Canadian citizen on August 7, 2014.

The "In Process" status has changed to "Complete".

I wish all my friends on the forum to see this status very soon.

File arrived in Local office (Edmonton) beginning of June

Hi Guys,

So I called CIC again today..... very confusing they said that the local office had received my file in April when it says they started processing on April 30, 2014 ..... anyway the agent recommended me to wait as the processing time listed is 24 months .... so wait i Shall..............

Application received at CIC: March 14, 2014.
AOR date: May 2, 2014.
Fingerprint request date: July 28, 2014
Fingerprint confirmed received at CIC: Aug 12, 2014

File at Mississauga.

Back in the waiting game!!!

Hello folks, I received my Test letter today.

Test Date: September 5th,

Location: 200 Town Center Court, Scarborough Town Center.

I need to search my Discover Canada book now. I forgot where did I keep it.
