you know something. You will never see me complaining for the strictness of the CIC procedures but I believe that in some cases they are overdoing it! Cases like the early expiring of the Police certificates and for many people who have been waiting on a slow VO the terrible ordeal to have them renew their Medicals.
I hope it will never happen to anyone of us!

Take care

Tom

yupp! fingers crossed!

Now that i think about it im sure my wife's PC has expired before we sent the application. Even if it expires isnt it part of the background check? I will ask her in the morning when she got it to make sure. But its just a hassle to have to get another one. Notarized and translated. Good luck to all and hopefully no one has setbacks.

What exactly does AOR mean? I noticed that even though my application arrived at CIC in early march, others who submitted in mid march have already received AOR whilst I have not.

I thought it was just a receipt that they have your application and are working it. Shouldn't this be in order of date received or am I missing something?

Hi thekindofguy and welcome to this thread

AOR is actually (Acknowledge of Receipt) means the email you will get or already have from CIC telling you that your package of apps is in their hands and are now processing it!
SA is the email notification you will get when they approve you as a sponsor
Having the aforementioned means you have passed the Stage 1 of your application :) :)

Please give us the info below so we can add you in our spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArQn4OImtWzQdFJOZk9pMEhnYm5DLUM0UmExV3ZPTmc#gid=1 from where you can track yours and other peoples progress.

Feel free to ask more questions

Hello SAHIL SINGH and welcome

Although I cannot advice you as my case is simple, I am sure there are many SAME SEX couples in this forum (I know a few too)
So its better to address your questions in the main Family Thread because this thread is fairly new and not seeing by many people.
I can only say, that I agree with your lawyer to let some more time pass as to make your case stronger.
Conjugal applications from what I have read are not always very successful so you should give your selves a little more time as to diminish any red flags that may arise in CIC
I wish you much luck and please feel free to write again

Why are you applying Conjugal if you were married last August??
Are same-sex marriages valid in Nepal?

On the 5th of August 2012 we got married in a temple in Nepal arranged by the Blue Diamond Society. Its true we got married, but the gay marriages happening there are not recognize by Nepal government. We know our marriage is not legal according to Canadian Immigration law because the Nepal government will not legally recognize the marriage until they bring in their new constitution which has yet to happen.

Hi bhupi20, welcome to the forum and congrats on your AOR!

I recommend to call Canada Post and get a refund for the delay ;) They are going to send us a cheque although my application was only 1 day late!

Thanks KKMoe...

I put an formal complaint about the incident and as you mentioned, they refunded they money.

This whole thing has taught me a good lesson, never to use post Canada for shipment...
