I'd say 3-4 weeks is actually unusually fast. My medicals were received on Oct 4th, status updated to "Medicals have been received" on Oct 22nd. And I have no further update...So, over a month (5 weeks) for me. I've seen people here like pongpong who get it in weeks, while others wait between 1-2 months...I suppose it depends on background checks and work load of VO.

But we're all just guessing in the hopes of finding comfort.

Hi, so i also did my medicals on Oct. 25 The clinic said they would send it the following week and they should get it within 10 bussiness days. So its approx 3 weeks now. When will I expect for a status update on ECAS that my meds was received? Im just worried coz I was dumb to not notice my MR was sitting in my email for a month, and the letter says it needs the Medicals within 60 days. So its more like I had 30 days to have it done. I guess I could phone the clinic to inquire if it was sent already....I just hope it they get it on time. This me paranoid, not wanting anymore delays

I agree there are so many variables each case is different, I think you shouldn't bother comparing.
But I found the best opportunity is for single white European young females, they get processed fastest.

I sincerely feel your pain. It is such a stressful process. I think what really makes it stressful isn't the waiting, but the inconsistency. People who apply today may get their PRs in a few months, yet, people who applied a year ago, may still be waiting.

Truth is that outside of getting your GCMS notes (I may do that soon), not much you can do. But even with the notes, you may still end up being unsatisfied. For example, what I was thinking about today was "Well, what if the VO sent me a PPR but it went to a different email address?" "What if my GCMS notes have the correct email address, but the VO sent it to the wrong one?" Or "What if the VO sent it to the right email address but there's something wrong with my email system for that one second and I never get it?" "What if...what if...what if..."

It can be excruciating because you feel so helpless and incapable of doing anything. Everything, once you've applied, is outside of your control.

You can call CIC. You can send them an email. You may hear back with something specific to your file. Or, you may get the typical response many people get which is "Your file is in queue..... no further instructions are required."

What may help is to remember that people who post on this site and trackitt represent a fraction of the people who actually apply each month. I doubt there's more than 50 people between trackitt and Canada Visa for each month. But there's likely hundreds, or thousands, who actually apply each month.

If you haven't contacted them, just send them an email. But, other than that, eat out a lot, watch a lot of movies, and take drugs to keep your mind off....

I should point out that if you're being processed through Ottawa, the ONLY way to find out your status is to email them. I waited on the phone for half an hour, just to have them tell me that Ottawa cases were special and could only be verified via email! Also, they won't answer questions you can "find out on the website," which is open to interpretation. (Technically I can find out my status on the website, but it isn't updated regularly, so it may not be correct!)

I sent them an email asking if they received my medicals. I did them Sept. 17, they weren't sent out by my doctor until October 31, and the tracking number says Ottawa received it November 1, though it doesn't say whether it went on file then! ???
