FOSS is used for inland applications and GCMS is used for outland applications, so the sponsor bit is in FOSS and the applicant bit (assuming outland) is in GCMS.

I suspect that is why the Call Centre can only answer questions about the inland part - they can only see FOSS information.

they are 2 systems used by CIC to process immigration/citizenship/sponsorship files, etc.
FOSS is the old one, whereas GCMS is new, and CIC appears to be in transition from FOSS to GCMS, I guess its not complete yet so both are in use concurrently.

For citizenship they use GCMS though. For immigration, CAIPS/FOSS still being used, if i am not misteken

I sent my application to sponsor my wife on March 7th to the Mississauga location. I haven't got any acknowledgement, nor does the "Client Application Status" page show that they have received anything.

I am quite concerned now, considering that a few of the late Marchers seem to have got their approvals! Any thoughts?

Why don't you send them a fax? The fax number is on their website. They're nearly finished with March, so I'd get on them ASAP.

Is there any reason why your approval might be taking longer? Is your case straightforward? Any red flags?

I would not worry. There are always a couple who get it super late but it all works out. Sorry though!
