Hi CathandBob, glad you have joined us. Sit back and relax, it will be a while lol

Yes the 90 days is for you to get your sponsor approval (pretty much it is 90 days before they even look at your envelope) After they open your envelope they should sent you an AOR in the email or snail mail, some people never received this at all. After that within 1 to 2 weeks you should know whether you have gotten sponsor approval or not. You will get a UCI # from CIC and then you can check your process in ECAS. From there it will be all transferred to the Visa office that is looking after your case. Hope that helps, if you have any more questions, fire then off, the people here are really helpful and we try to help each other as much as we can.

You can update your profile once you have posted 10 times only. The 90 days + is from the date they have received your application it is not business days this also counts weekends although some of us think they should put business days instead. Once that you are approved as a sponsor the case processing center (CPC) will either send you and e-mail or snail mail... it most likely will come from ottawa from what we have seen. From there they will transfer your file to london so that the principal applicant can get approved. The delays depend on the Visa Office (VO) If you have sent a complete application and have paid all the fees they will only communicate with you for a passport request (PPR) unless you are one of the lucky ones who receive an Acknowledgement of receipt (AOR). Hope this helps...

Hi Cgagnon,
please can you add me to the spreadsheet ,,, App 12th March ... Recieved 14th March, .. going to Hudson Bay Sask.

Something i'm not sure of ... when it says 90 day or so ... is that meaning thats how long it is taking to approve sponsor? m i right in thinking then that untill the sponsor gets approved nothing else is done? If someone could tell me a little of how the process works that would be great.

Wishing everyone in the group good luck and lets hope we hear soon :)
Cath and Bob

You have been added to the list WELCOME!!!

So this could be positive http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob305.asp

I'm posting this like crazy as if we have a low security risk file we could be staying in ottawa for the whole processing time which could mean that for Outland Buffalo applicants this could be good too.

That bulletin is a year old though.

Thank you both for your replies, it seems to be the way i thought .... we were hoping for somewhere around Aug/Sept but will have to wait and see.
In the meantime there is loads here to be getting on with. Funny how that works ... didn't think there was much to do BEFORE we started ;) Now its like there are SO many jobs to do ... we're gonna run out of time !! ;)
Good luck folks ... and REALLY look forward to seeing the first March applicant on that spreadsheet get to hear something, then we know its happening :)
Cath

Wouldn't you love to find out what exactly takes the CIC-Mississauga 90 days to review my eligibility for sponsorship?? I mean could there be a valid reason for them still reviewing applications received on Feb 7th? It jumped from 54 to 80+ in a span of 10-15 days! and it hasn't come down since.

All right, that was my rant of the day! I am okay now.. ;)

But it still states that they will do the whole process for the low risk ones...and with Buffalo closing im sure Ottawa will pick up on apps

That bulletin is for appeal cases only it said.

You have been added to the list as for your profile changes you can do it once you have written 10 posts. Welcome and good luck!

Good news - two Feb 27 applicants got an AOR today. Feb only goes to 29. So by the end of the week I am sure they will open at least one March 1 application! It takes about one week to get approval, sometimes less, sometimes more. But even CIC sent someone an email and it said on average it takes 1 week to assess and approve. So next week someone should get approval from this group!

Hi,
I have sent my application on March 19th CIC Missisauga received it on March 21st.
My husband is in India so the Processing centre will be New Dehli. Can you please add me to your spreadsheet?
And i was wondering why is the website not been updated for last three weeks?
