hello guys, isang mensahe sa member na minsan lang mag-post kasi puro basa na lang ang gawa hehehe...

we attended COA yesterday and nasabi dun na yung CD$10k up is per person...kami kasi we are 6, me and hubby plus 4kids...but i guess since it is always best to say the truth better declare the amount you'll bring whether in cash or demand/bank draft...but sympre nasa inyo pa din po ang decision...

yung kay noelcezh na flight na direct sa calgary, nice naman nakakuha ka ng ganyang booking at least no need for connecting flight if really bound to calgary ka...but i suggest make sure mo talaga na nag-accept ng first time immigrant dun kasi mas madalas nga e sa 3major aports ang usapan dito...

dun sa mga aalis pa lang and looking for not so expensive winter clothes na madadala sa canada, you can check out Winterhouse sa cartimar doon kami bumili nung sa amin...pwede din dun magpasadya should you have another color of your choice or design na out of stock...sa thermal wear naman and other winter accessories like gloves, warm socks, scarf etc.madami sa greenhills...pinaghandaan ko maigi ang winter clothes kasi ginawin akong tao hehehehe...

sa nasa packing mode like us, we will be using balikbayan boxes lang kasi ang dami and mabigat pag 12luggage bags ang dadalahin namin...bumili na lang kami ng balikbayan box cover to protect the carton boxes it cost 425pesos each, i contacted mickey at 09228402584, pag gumamit kasi ng cover less packing tape or duct tape na...

hello to all...

we just attended our wholde seminar COA (Canadian Orientation Abroad) yesterday in Makati and it was a good experience.
had the chance to meet some others bound for Vancouver. They already have their visas. I think we were the only ones who are still waiting for our visas in the batch.

If there's one thing that I got clarified from the seminar, is that Canadian immigration will look for the whole amount of the POF once the principal arrives in Canada. In our case, we were planning that I'd go ahead of my wife and kids as the principal to get stabilized first before they follow so we asked if I will be required to show that I carried the whole settlement fund needed for a family of four. Our lecturer said YES....it is required even if my dependents are still in the Philippines. I guess its a question now if we are willing to risk entry denial because of POF criteria. I've read from previous posts here in the forum some who have already landed did not carry the whole amount upon entry. But again to be safe, better have ammunition ready :)

as of now our status in ECAS is still "In Progress".

hi cai84, we got our ticket from below,
AFJ TRAVEL SERVICE
315 GOLD ST. SILVER HOME CLASSIC,
PERPETUAL 7, BACOOR
CAVITE
TEL : 632 4732655
FAX : 632 4841308

we were able to avail of first time immigrant rate pero same rate sa lahat even children, the rate is US$758, booked two months advanced...kaya lang it is not direct flight this is MNL-YVG-YEG (manila-vancouver-edmonton) via Eva Air then Air Canada, yun nga lang mahaba ang waiting time namin sa Taipei, pero okay lang kasi expensive ang direct flight...6 kasi kami...

hi rene_8000, thanks for posting your landing experience...may inquiry lang ako about the PR Card, need pa ba bring recent picture? Or dun sa sinubmit natin before e dun na sila kumuha?

Don't bother listing all the things that you will bring. Make a summary like what I did. In the form I wrote assorted clothes as number 1 then number 2 I wrote assorted gadgets then on a separate paper I wrote all the gadgets I brought with serial numbers then number 3 I wrote assorted jewelry then write the description and value of the jewelry you will bring on a separate paper. That's it! Nobody will check on that list I just handed my list to the immigration officer and she returned it to me didn't know if she read it or not. She just asked if we have goods to follow. Hope this helps.

thank you virgiemarie and to others who replied my queries sa POF. What I was most interested po is kung dalawa po kaming mag-travel and our POF is $17K, and since sabi nila "..declare it in form of writing if you are carrying above $10K..", puede po bang paghatian namin ng wife ko yung POF($8k plus each) para hindi na kami mag fill up nung form? thanks again, virgiemarie and the rest of the group! 8) 8) 8)

It will still be computed as a whole, di separate. Wala namang kaso kung marami kayong perang dala. No fee will be charged. Mas ok nga yun kasi ibig sabihin, di kayo magiging pabigat sa govt if ever di kayo makahanap ng work within 6 months. Our POF is required to show that we can live decently for 6 months while looking for a job.

hi virgie ,hinanapan b kyo s airport d2 s atin ng proof ng source ng pera n dala nyo ?kasi s PDOS sabi klanagn may mga documents k n klanagan pakita to prove kung san galing ung pera.thanks!! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
hi tinang_m and to those who recently landed. May you pls enlighten us dito sa tanong ni kate regarding "proof of source" ng perang dala nyo? thank you guys!! ;) ;) ;)

virgie kami kasi 4000 us dollar ang dala namin then the rest naka bank draft naman po okay na kaya yun just to make it sure thanks

Computed pa rin po as a whole yung demand draft and cash on hand. In our case, 10K ang nakademand draft, 7K ang cash na US Dollars and 500 Canadian dollars. Ang demand draft kasi, once na maclear after madeposit nyo na, pera na agad yun na readily available in 15 days (sa case namin after 15 working days cleared na so nakawithdraw na kami). By the way, ako kasi ang principal applicant so ako ang nagdeclare na may dala ng POF, hindi ang hubby ko, lalo nang hindi ang baby namin. Hehehe!

By the way, patagal nang patagal ang processing ng PR cards.
