Hi guys.. its been a while since i posted my landing experience. Eto na nman ako, nabuhay ulit.. hehe.. its a good sunny day today in Surrey,BC.. already 7pm but the sun is still up. .... right now, nag-aayos ng papers for my para ma-evaluate sa Technologist Certification dito sa BC.. then at the same time attending interviews... may program nga pala dito ang govt for new immigrants, attend ka ng 10 week training nila with pay, o ha ikaw na tuturuan ikaw pa babayaran.. at per hour pa hehe.. minimum pero naman ite-train ka on resume writing, handling interviews, soft skills training, time management etc etc.. then saka ireready ka sa job market dito.. hanggang makakuha ka ng full time job. ;D Not bad... medyo stiff nga lang competition kasi 12 pax per batch lang and they have been screening hundreds of applicants Kaya when you land here, or any province, hanap agad kayo ng mga resource centers for immigrants and unemployed citizens.. dami ditong ganun... funded by the govt.
kaya sa mga waiting for visa, maximize your time jan sa Pinas.. prepare yourself emotionally din pala. Yung patience at emotional learnings brought about nung waiting waiting natin ng visa is a big help...

yung lang muna po... hope dumating na mga inaantay ninyo.. maganda ang temp ngayon dito... malamig pero papainit na rin ng konti kasi malapit na summer... best time to land in Canada sabi nila...

Yung particular agency ko dito ay yung AWARE JobOptions BC... covering Surrey/Newton, Cloverdale and New Westminster. kaya kung meron dito sa forum na dun titira sa mga areas na ito i suggest you go and visit their office in Newton Exchange - 7337 137th St...

I got in.. sa June 6 magsisimula yung 10-week program nila (with pay hehe).. pero i will inform them na hindi na ako sasali.. kasi just this morning, a hotel in downtown Vancouver called me at advised me to report immediately. Got my first job after 1 month of job hunting and vacation mode...

Haayyyy... may trabaho na akoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow so inspiring nakakawala ng kaba na 1month lang ang job hunting mo and here you are may work na...congratulations sayo carlnoweast...

salamat raelonica... actually nung 2nd week ko pa lang may nag-offer na sa akin ng job kaya lang tinanggihan ko muna.. kayang kaya yan.. basta huwag muna masyadong mapamili sa work. remember, employers here needs Canadian work experience... tiyaga lang talaga sa pag-aapply... huwag susuko!!!!

Just would like to post a question regarding buffer time before visa expiry....

How much time do we really need to prepare for actual departure? Is 1 month enough to finish all "General" items to look over? Let's assume nabenta na mga gamit and all. Is there any checklist within the forum na pede natin refer?
