Check this out:
http://www.sott.net/articles/show/223959-Canada-Immigrant-Visas-to-Drop-5-Per-cent-Records

Now for some sherlock analysis:

"Among the biggest losers from Canada's reduced immigration targets are those applying under the federal skilled worker program - a category the government has repeatedly said it wants to prioritize.

The numbers in this group will drop by 20 per cent this year over last, with just 56,000 workers being allowed into Canada - compared with 70,000 last year. "

This could be the reason why everything has slowed down. now, there is something to thank for in our case -- kasi i'm assuming na naka-earmark na tayo to be part of the 56,000. Why? for the reason that a date (Visa Expiry) is already penned on our application. This does not prevent them though to drag the release of the visa. Kasi I think, IMHO, that the priority is on the post June 26 applicants. Mag-balancing act sila in releasing the pending applications (from pre-Feb 2008, post Feb 2008 and the post Jun 26).

Again it shows that we are still lucky. The noose is getting tighter and next thing we know baka sarado na ang immigration opportunity window.

I totally agree. And sana nga merong visa that passport once it's returned to me after spending months on their desk. Lol!

And they can drag the visa release for sure, knowing what we know now. I'm already expecting my visa now to arrive two months before it expires (best case scenario), and not anymore before April 1. Tsk tsk!

Post June-26 apps have now started getting medical requests from CEM while our passports have been on their desks for months now. I need that passport too by July/August (not just for Canada).

If people negatively affected had the means to and legal yun and all things equal, baka mag-demanda sila 'cause CIC keeps changing policies almost (if not so already) to the detriment of many who made their app payments and submissions under their differing FSW policies.. lol. jk! :P

Lesson learned to thread reader who's thinking to file a Canada immi app, as soon as a new FSW1 policy is put in place, better submit an app asap lest you become the next victim of another policy change. 'Cause it's really not funny anymore. Imagine, passport ko would be with them for more than six months if it reaches that point. What if merong work assignment overseas etc right? Hay, the sacrifices talaga for that beloved visa. :P Hehe!

Patience na lang to us dear watsons. Lol!

Tip to those who regularly check their ecas, might be best to do so on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

The ecas page says they update on Tuesdays but for Manila time that might be Wednesdays. So if am not mistaken, late Wednesday or Thursday na lang my best bet to check if weekly (even though we know that also doesn't always get changed to DM status before one receives a visa, sometimes, after pa). Lol! 8)

Hi everyone, ask ko lang pano po ang payment ng PRPF? in peso po ba? by check?

Hi nursemich,

I paid mine via bank draft, in CDN. However, many paid via manager's check in peso.

The instructions I had from CEM before re RPRF (via the medical request) indicated the amount in CDN and in peso. Just follow one or the other and you should be fine. Back then it was Php 21,000.00 and CDN 490 (I think...) and the same amounts were indicated on the CIC website (so check the site and compare too before preparing the check/draft).

Follow the amount they indicate and if you plan to pay in peso, there's no need to check what's the exchange rate for the day then paying the equivalent when it comes to paying in pesos. 'Cause others who did had their payments returned even though it exceeded only by a few pesos. hehe!

I understand you got your medical request/rprf letter already? Didn't they include the instructions there? Hindi ko na kasi sure how's the process/papers for such things for post-June 26 apps.

Any good news from our fellow forumers? My ECAS is still "IN-PROCESS" until this date. I never thought that the last stage in visa processing will be the hardest part...

Will there be any chance for visa refusal even if you are at this stage? I wonder about this one too. Any comments from anyone here? My wife and I are really anxious of waiting for the "BIG DAY"!

Really hoping for a good week ahead of us!!!

Please read my query in purple above.

hi kitty.. considering all we've been through this few months, here we are trying to encourage one other to cheer up and wait patiently more and more till the pps arrive. we will soon reap the fruit of our sacrifices. haaaay! ka faet! but we need to cheer up 'coz we're almost there. we need the pps sana this 20th coz we have a short trip overseas. we bought out tickets last year pa expecting our pps would be returned b4 our travel date. until now, hoping pa rin kami to the last minute na darating na pps namin. non refundable, non rebookable, non transferable yung mga tickets. haay, sayang kaso walang magawa. trying to rationalize na nalang baka our trip is not meant for us. *wink

God bless us and happy wednesday to all!
