hi meganjms... when did you submit your NBI? actually, what's the date of your NBI clearance? and when did you send your passports to the VO?

thanks! baka most of us here has an NBI certificate issued around the same time yours was so we can also prepare :)

nung nov. 23 q sinend passport q.. till now wla pa visa, ifollow up q sana 2day, pero bigla 2mawa kanina umaga embassy, magemail daw cla. and said to the email i have 2 send my nbi, since nakakuha n aq ng new nbi last week, pinadala q na agad 2day.. i remember yuna kg last na kinuha nila nbi it was mor than a year ago na.. kaya expired na yun ngayon kaya cguro i hav provide a new 1. i hiope juz a week or 2 makuha q na passport q wid visa.. huhuhu

Valid National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance for yourself, issued within the last six months, with thumbprint and dry seal affixed. Please send us the original copy. “Personal Copy” is not accepted. DO NOT FAX YOUR NBI CLEARANCE.

To ensure the timely processing of your application, the document(s) and information we have requested should be provided to us within thirty (30) days from the date of this letter. Failure to provide the information within the time indicated may lead to the cancellation or refusal of your application.
The file number noted above must be included on all correspondence with this office.

well this is good news for everyone meganjms! at least it means our papers are moving along... well, at least YOUR application is being processed ;D good indication that those who submitted their passports last november are getting attention... though mas mabilis talaga pag provincial nominee and the old applicants like virgiemaricel are usually issued their visas within 30 days of passport submission... do let us know when you get your visa ;) wish you all the best!

i have to renew na rin our nbi's, bka bigla rin kami irequire. may kapangalan pa naman ako, kya hindi ko agad makukuha...

Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA)

Participants: voluntary for all Filipinos leaving the country as temporary workers under the Live-in Caregiver Program or in any permanent resident category

Length: one full day

Where: IOM office on the 24th Floor of the Citibank Tower Bldg. at 8741 Paseo de Roxas, Makati City

Cost: free-of-charge

Program: In the seminars, one will learn about the nature of the Canadian society, common problems of adaptation faced by newcomers, the rights and obligations of temporary workers and immigrants, the Canadian health and educational systems, how to find a job, how to look for a place to live in, the cost of living, and facts about the city in which you will be living in.

While attendance in these seminars is not mandatory, there are a lot of benefits that can be obtained in attending it. It will give you a lot of information on skills necessary for a successful adaptation in Canada; reliable information on issues and concerns regarding Canadian labor laws, contract expiry/extension, permanent resident status, sponsorship; and practical tips about life in Canada.

ACCC Seminars: Canadian Immigration Integration Project (CIIP)

Participants: voluntary for all adult immigrants selected in the Skilled Worker category

Length: one full day seminar and half day individual counseling

Where: CIIP, 7th floor. Port Royal Place, 118 Rada Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Cost: free-of-charge

Program: The CIIP is intended to guide newcomers through the integration process while still in the country of origin and then following arrival in Canada. The seminar will provide a general overview of trends in the Canadian economy, as well as a focus on labour market prospects in the province of destination. CIIP staff also provides a case study of two or more occupations to demonstrate licensing and entrance requirements for both regulated and non-regulated fields of employment. Presentations on opportunities are balanced by an examination of labour market and settlement challenges, and options for addressing these challenges are discussed. The day concludes with a session on job-searching in the Canadian environment.

Participants are invited to return the following day for one-on-one counselling interviews at which they can develop an Individual Integration Plan (IIP).
