Xerox and original copy of copr, visa/passport, picture.... Ready to fly here!! I just hope all my baggages will go smoothly!!! Hahaha.... For now i have a couple of days for R & R!!

Well, an update for us to today, of sorts at least. My misses and her son got their request for re-med today, they will be off to bagio (spelling) to get that wrapped up and sent off on Friday. Hopefully this leads to the down side of the waiting game now. Fingers crossed.

ohh where exactly is your wife from? i did my medicals in Baguio as well last year and im in the process of waiting for my remed request which will be sent to me in few weeks time accdg to CEM.. they'll only undergo xray accdg to a friend of mine which had her remed last friday in Baguio.. she paid 2 thousand pesos, brought 5pcs photos and valid ids..

I emailed my MP asking for a status update on our application back in early July (before our PPR) and they just replied now:

Good morning Mr.Panes,

I inquired on the status of your application and this is the reply I received from immigration in Manila on September 17,2013.

Dear Mr. Galipeau,

Please be advised that initial review on the file has been completed. The applicant's medical result is valid until 26 January 2014. The application is currently queued for eligibility review. The applicant will be apprised accordingly of the additional processing requirements that may be needed.

We trust this information is of assistance.

If needed you can follow-up with our office at any time.

I thought the eligibility review is done before the PPR? Is anyone familiar with the flow process CEM uses? Just trying to gauge where I am in the pipeline. And yeah, they extended my wife's medical. She got it done in Dec 10, 2012, now it will expire in Jan 26, 2014

No, not a single email response. All my wife got was an email requesting them to redo the medicals. Which will get done up on Friday. I am amazed how I seem to manage to get zero responses but other people do. I guess it at least shows CEM is still moving, albeit at a snails pace.

Thanks Iay, and yes hopefully this like I mentioned earlier is hte down side of the wait now.

i want to sponsor my wife who is in the philippines now to come to canada.. she has worked and studied in london before in a student visa but has overstayed there.. she was never deported,she just chose to go back home.. is there a big chance that she will be refused a canadian immigrant visa?

As long as she gets a clear criminal record check from the UK, I guess it shouldn't have a huge impact in her application?
I'm not quite sure if there will be a way for CEM to see that she overstayed in London.
All she has to declare are the dates from when to when she stayed there.


That is just my opinion tho. Does anyone think it's a misrepresentation to not disclose anything about the overstaying?

You're right.. from what I have read around the forum in the last 2 years, overstaying somewhere else has no impact in Canada.

You don't have to mention she overstayed. Just state the dates as a fact. I don't think you need to mention what kind of visa she was on or what happened. She will need to get a police clearance from there since she spent time there.

ok iris,,,we will do another 400 that wont go to parties,,,,,ya I figured roughly 1/2 hour for that at cfo,,,,she will have a relaxing day waiting for the big plane to Vancouver,,,,now with this I think all the teas are dotted and eyes crossed LOL ,,,,,My wife will be rite behind you in 2 days,,,,,the excitement is growing,,,,junior is flexing his biceps every once in a while 6 days 13 hours the last Wednesday nite without my wife
