Note that the CFO seminar is only half day and scheduled on different day for spouses of Canadian citizens. So to avoid delays make sure you check for the right one.
Ah so it's not every day? Anyways, when in the Philippines I think expecting to go and get something done in a timely manner or even on the same day you set out to is a bit too much to ask ::)

Haha... Yes, so true... Don't quote me on this but I think there are 3 per week, but plan for the week as they are first come first serve... Which makes it reeeeeaaally easy to plan for plane tickets (sarcasm)

But logically I think that the day seminar is busier because it's also for everyone....But the half day is for spouses of Canadian citizens only.

If anyone knows different or details, please chime in,as I'm not certain.

Well.. I've heard you can do them before you get your visa. But I think they need to see your passport with visa to issue a stamp? And I've also heard that they have some kind of office at the airport.

To quote from the CFO website:

"You may avail of the Guidance and Counseling Session even while you are still processing or waiting for your visa. If such is the case, you will only be issued the GCC. Once your visa is released, you will return to CFO to continue with your registration. The CFO sticker will then be affixed on your passport

I had a little chuckle at the gratuitous use of the word Avail. They just love that word in the Phils :P

I believe the half day you get a certificate, then the office at the airport gives you the sticker for your passport....and you can take any time

Here's a quote from another thread on the topic:

So finally my wife arrived in Manila, she went straight to CFO office (it was open!) she said that there's was no water in the street around there and could go easily. 15 minutes later, she got her sticker! Wooohooo!

By the way, did you know that they also have a CFO desk at NAIA airport? i just discover that yesterday when i was in panick mode lol. I called and they said people can also have their sticker at the airport, all you have to do is to call 1 or 2 days in advance to get an appointment.

For people interested, here's the phone number:

CFO NAIA Office: (+632) 879-5685

great news for the phone number....that's promptly saved..haha, thanks

By the sound of the post it sounds like they already had their certificate and just needed the sticker...

Here is another link, although it's quite vague. I think a phone call is the best bet, as even the GFO details in CJG's link states that COPR is needed, however I remember specifically reading that it isn't needed for those of Canadian citizens...I'll keep digging for the links.

Yes but do you want to be the one to explain that to the customs agent in NAIA ??? You know how these things go, it's the same as the Filipino store return policy 8)

Thanks.

I had no idea this existed. Nice to know it now. I thought it was the marriage counselling seminar you have to take before you can get married. I emailed my wife and I'll let her deal with it.LOL.

Well, this is so annoying. I went to check the Manila spreadsheet that spans a bunch of months, and somebody had deleted me off of it! I guess that's the problem when it's open for all to edit.
