I would pick the cheapest flight you can find from Manila to Vancouver (maybe through Hong Kong or Beijing?), and then do Air Canada or WestJet from Vancouver to Edmonton (whichever is cheapest and/or has the best flight time you are needing).
I live in Edmonton, and that's what my nanny does...
