Hi! Not sure if anyone will actually respond to this thread but wanted to give it a shot.

I noticed that most applications for spouses of Filipinos, whether PR holders or naturalized Canadians, seem to be processed much faster than those of us whose spouses are non-Filipinos (Canadian by Birth).

I've been curious for some time now what the timelines are like for other spouses of Non-Filipinos are, like me. Hope you could share yours as well, so we can see if there's a trend going on here.

Thank you!

Here's my timeline:

App filed: February 23, 2015
AOR: May 5, 2015
SA: June 1, 2015
PPR: July 14, 2015

My application intervals are unbelievably long.

App filed to AOR: 71 days
App filed to SA: 98 days
AOR to SA: 27 days
SA to PPR: 43 days

My spouse and I have been together for 5 years now, and we lived together overseas for 2 years, so I am pretty sure there's nothing questionable about the "genuineness" of our relationship. I'm happy for those who got their approvals quickly, but at the same time it's a bit frustrating to be so behind especially when most people who filed their apps much later are now much further ahead in the application process than us.

I'm March applicant my husband is Canadian by birth from Winnipeg, PPR ako June 8 ECAS ko still application and medical received until now ay wala pa din pagbabago i notice that nagbe base din cla sa expiration ng medical madami na ngayon ang DM dahil malapit na ma expire medical Nila I hope di lng cla nagbe base kung PR holder or Canadian by birth ang sponsor kc its unfair dapat nga mas mabilis process pag Canadian by birth ang sponsor e, just saying. Anyways there's nothing else we can do just to wait. Cross fingers for our update soon.

November 4 , 2014 applicant, Sponsor is a Canadian Citizen by birth,
SA: January 20, 2015
Request Additional Docs: May 13, 2015

Nothing from CEM since submitting the AOR etc May 20. ECAS still only shows App Received and Medical Has be Received. No IP, No DM, No PPR. NO response to inquiries to CEM, our local MP or Chris Alexander the Immigration Minister!

Hi. My husband is Canadian by birth too. Yeah there's nothing we can do about it. Let's continue praying....

Hello I'm a Canadian by birth, sponsoring my wife from the Philippines. Yeah I can understand the frustration, but like Ellise mention all we can do is have faith and pray to God.

Canadian by birth, NO complaint whatsoever on our timeline. I will say that from my experience the application intervals mean nothing. My prediction, the OP will have visa by 2nd week of November . . . nothing to get all bent out of shape over.

Lol.

Your app was processed in 2012 how can you even think your experience is in any way relevant to the applications now

At the time we applied the posted processing time for step 1 was 55 days. And 98 days to complete step 1 is nothing to get all bent out of shape over?

You may be a champion member but you still need to think before you comment. Easy for you to take things easy, you're app has been all done and you've probably been reunited with your spouse for years now

HI Everyone!!

I suspect thats the case though no matter how vague the process is (inside the immigration) we are still hoping and praying for equality and fairness in processing.

We emailed the PM and MP and they replied though the last emails, they havent get back to us.

just praying everyone to get their fair chance to be with their loved ones.

Straight forward applications have been processed out of Manila in 8-9 month mark even quite recently, that's how i "know" so! Until yours actually exceeds a year how do YOU know??

You're already complaining only 5 months in?!? Hmmph!

Well look at that. Shyder29 there will be done in 10 months. What year is it?? Good golly its 2015!!

Hahahahaha! Im glad youre done with the waiting game.

We can truly complaint if it exceed the processing time though if you have seen 2015 applicants getting their visa and that makes you worried and wonder.

Im feeling I am in the end of the process, it wont be long and I will be with my husband :)

Hi guys! February 2015 applicant here..I was sponsored by my hubby Canadian citizen.. I too was wondering why the process of a pr holder is much faster than a citizen by birth... well, somebody told me perhaps the reason why is because of the marriage fraud... the vo really trying to check wether our relationship with our spouse is genuine or not. Nothing to worry anyways as long we know our relationship is true then we'll just wait and pray to god for our visa to be granted soon... good luck to all of us!
