The following is the timeline for my temporary resident visa online application, processed by the Canadian Embassy in Manila, Philippines:

• Online Application Submitted: May 10, 1014, 6:42:52 AM EDT
• Application read: May 11, 9:52:05 AM EDT
• Passport Request Received: May 12, 12:52:43 AM EDT
• Passport submitted to VAC: May 13, 2014
• Online Application as of : May 14, 2014
Status= "closed"
A final decision has been made =“This applicaton has been approved”
• Passport dispatched from Canadian Embassy to VAC: May 15, 2014
• Passport Picked at VAC: May 16, 2014

Visa Issued: V1 Multiple
Visa Validity: till expiration of passport

Here's what timeline looked like in my case -
Online application submission- April 29th
Confirmation of application receipt from embassy - April 30th
Received passport request - May 13th
Submitted Passports - May 15th
Received stamped passports through mail - May 20th

Received Visa for 2 years, multi-entry (more than what I had requested for).

Status still open and request of documents were made
Even the decision is not yet ready ..

Our flight to Newyork will be this May 31.....
