Hi

For English speakers

I tried searching through threads via searching "Medical + Manila" and found nothing that answers my problem.
My question are for Filipinos/Residents in the Phils applying for spousal/family class visa this year. I hope you can help me. My wife is in Canada under PR. Now I am applying under spousal visa . We are nearing completion of the requirements, we are down to the medical requirements from a certified medical panel, which for 2013 is St. Lukes Extension Clinic. I inquired though their numbers and the person I talked to said I need a letter from my sponsor or from the embassy. I insisted that the requirements did not indicate any waiting period nor a letter before the medical exam just that it should accompany my application requirements. Is this correct? Could I just send the requirements now and wait a response from the CIC thru my sponsor or the embassy.

Thanks

Chris

Hi, as far as I know, you don't need a letter from the embassy if you're applying for spousal visa. There's a form you will need to fill-up, before we can download it at the CIC website but this time the panel physician will be the one to give it to you.

If you have a facebook account you can join Canada with Love group. More applicants will answer you there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CanadaWithLoveYouCanPostQuestionHere/

Thanks for the reply shekinah. I assumed as much, but the two numbers I called both insist on the letter. I am confused. Perhaps new rules are in place, since a month ago there supposed to be a lot of clinics you can go to for the Medical Exam. But now the site only lists St Lukes Extension CLinic :( So you can see my reluctance to go and ask for the medical exam. My only hope is I get someone who did spousal application this Feb and confirm if the rule is in place or otherwise.

Yes, best way is to ask new applicants. There are other threads here where you can post your query and surely new applicants can answer you. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spouse-family-class-timeline-manila-visa-office-philippines-t40680.28740.html

Or you can join in the fb link I post yesterday.
