Hi everyone,

I'd love to hear the opinion of the forum people on my case:

I landed 75 days ago and I haven't received my PR card yet. I called the CIC centre tthree weeks ago and they said they sent a message to the people in charge of issuing new cards. I called again today and they said the messaged hasn't been replied to yet and that my card hasn't been issued yet. No reasons given and they only answer I got is that I have to be patient and wait...

Is this bad luck? or did anyone else go through a similar situation? the average waiting time that they mention on the website is around 20 days....

Thanks a lot in advance. I'd aprpeciate any thoughts you may want to share about this.

Now processing time is around one month. You should get pr card soon.
I have landed on first week of June and got pr card by end of July. Around 7 weeks.

Mmm.. still 75 days sounds like a lot of delay... much more than 7 weeks...

But do you think that I'm still within standard times?

In June processing time was 3 months and now reduced to One month. Hence you should get pr card soon.

What is the rush? Are you one of these people that cannot wait to leave Canada? Get PR and then bugger off back home...

Not a very polite answer, ain't it?

I live in Canada and I lived here almost 3 years before having PR. I need to travel regularly for business. It's part of my job. Short stays in different countries. Extremely inconvenient if I need to apply for a PR document every single time I go...

Well, compare your first post with the one above. Complete different story and content.

I am just getting fed up with people, not you, coming here and demanding things, then leave for years and complain when their PR card has expired.

So please forgive me and I wish you get your card soon. Btw, it took my wife 6 months to get her's!!

Apologies accepted. I start to think that the person on the phone may have thought that the reason I was so worried about the delay might have been something like this that you mentioned... I didn't explain my particular case to that detail to that person... That's unfortunate, the thought that people would like to stay in Canada to then go someplace else once they got PR never crossed my mind... what would they want to do that, I wonder?

And wow... 6 months... that would make it really difficult for me at work I really hope it's faster than that... :(. Is there any reasons why they might want to delay in my case? maybe that they think that I want to abuse the system or something like that?

In any case, it seems that the only thing I can do is to patiently wait.. because there is nowhere, other than the phone number of the CIC, where I can take my case, right?

And thanks for your second reply. I appreciate it. :)

There is another option, they "lost" your form. After 5,5 months of waiting, they sent a form to my wife to fill in with a new set of pictures. 2 weeks later the card was in the mailbox..
