Hey guys,

Thanks to this great forum and its memebers for sharing their experience w/ AINP. However, I just have couple of questions and would appreciate if someone who has been in a similar situation can help me. A lil abt my background, I work for company A and they are in process of filing my green card. Stage 2. To be honest, looking at the economic situation, I am applying to AINP just as a backup. I am wondering, if i apply for AINP and assuming that i get it next 8-12 months:

1. Will it impact my GC application?
2. When do i have to leave the current company and be in Canada? How long can i defer moving to Canada? (I understand i need to be residing 2 out of 5 yrs in Canada to renew my PR) but my question is specific to initial movement? Can i go there, get all my docs in 2-3 months and come back to US for work?
3. My company is there in Canada as well, but not in AB? Is it possible for me to be in Canada and continue my GC process here?

Anyone in similar situation??? Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1. Would the US know that you applied for Canada PR, how? If not, you would not have to worry about it. If you tell them or they find out, they may see it as you not be very interested in their GC.

2. Once you get your PR visa which may in itself take a year or more, you will have a time limit to "land" in Canada, usually a year from your medicals. Once you land in Canada, you can stay a month and collect your PR card or you can leave right away if you can give a friends address. The clock for 2 years in Canada and 3 out, starts ticking when you land. Once you are out of Canada for 3 years, you lose your PR status.

3. I don't know if you can apply for GC in the US while you are in Canada.
