Hello all,

I seek opinions on mainframe job demands in Canada, esp for expats. After my quick search, i have come across some companies like TD Bank, Randstad, CPR, NTTData etc which and all operate Mainframes and are in need of resources, but not sure if they find resources scarce in Canada and go for foreigners. (Hence leading to LMIA)

Is there a continuous supply of local mainframe resources in Canada to meet demands?

What are the chances of recruiting a foreign mainframe Programmer?

Which state/province has got the highest demand? (My research shows Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia in priority order. Quebec is running hot, but i believe French is a hindrance)

Would appreciate all your views. Thanks.

The above mentioned companies wont spend their time hiring a foreign candidate. In Ontario there are many universities supplying IT resources.

IT resources looking for LMIA should target smaller companies rather that targeting those big companies as none of them would get entangled in the stupid immigration and legal problems.
