Hello Forum Members-

This is a repost from another thread. I am still looking for help.

My CEC application has been approved by Buffalo CIC and they have now requested for passports of all family members.

Calling everyone who has sent their passports from India to Buffalo by a courier service:
1. Which courier service did you use to send your passports for stamping and when did you send them?
2. Was there any supplementary documents / authorization required by the courier company to courier your passports?

I dont know any friend/relative who can take our passports to U.S. and mail them locally. Fedex and Blue Dart have refused to carry passports. DHL says that they would carry it provided they have a letter from Ministry of External Affairs allowing the same but I have no clue how to get such a letter.

Any insight will be appreciated. Thank you all for your attention and responses.

ONAP:
Thanks for your personal message. I have not allowed to send personal messages.

I am from New Delhi.

Hi gc2canada,

try to call CIC call center and find out, they may allow you to send passport to new delhi consulate as soon they are closing Buffalo services.

I am not sure whether out side Canada calls will be answered by CIC call center so you can also giva a try with new delhi consulate contact numbers?

thanks
ONAP

Hello ONAP-

I did send an enquiry to CIC Buffalo a few weeks back. Here was their response:
"You must submit your passport to the office that processed your application. If you are unable to do so you can withdraw your application and reapply in your country of nationality or the country where you are residing, provided you have been lawfully admitted for a period of at least one year. Please be aware processing fees are non refundable.

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo
Immigration Section"

So, since I cannot travel myself at this moment and dont have any friend/relative travelling to U.S. at this time, I am stuck with the courier option. DHL says that they can carry the passport subject to the letter from the Ministry of External Affairs. However, neither do they have any format of the expected letter nor the know-how of who to contact in the Ministry.

Hi gc2canada,

I guess the Confirmation of permanent resident(COPR) and Passport request e-mail from CIC should suffice. Show these to DHL and I guess they might accept your passport.

Hi gc2canada

From your comments its clear that you are in India. But why did you mentioned your Visa office as Buffalo instead of New Delhi in ur application or you applied from Canada itself?

Hi
Did anybody managed to send the Passport from India to USA by courier?
Please help me by sharing your experience.

You need to visit the consulate in US in person and submit your passport.

As per Indian Law, you can not courier your passports.. You have to Travel... Plan for B1/B2 visa ..and submit the passport personally...
