In the Background declaration form where we mention the addresses.

I never travelled outside my country but lived in 4 different states/province in India. At one place where I lived for 2.5 years my mailing address was different than the place where i used to live in the same city. I gave this mailing address to everyone for correspondence (as most of the time I was not available at my residence). This (mailing address) is also mentioned in two of my appointment letters where I worked, these letters I will be submitting with my package.
I do not know if that place even exists today or not, no one knows me there now as it has been 6-7 years now. But the place where I was leaving during the same time is still there and few of my relatives are living as of today.

Now for this period do I mention my mailing address (as it is mentioned in two appointment letters) or my residential address (as I have someone living there who knows me)?

The question is clear: "List all the addresses where you have lived. Do not use P.O. box addresses"

You should put your residential address. Your mailing address is more of a PO box address.

Thank you very much for the clarification.

Just one more thing, should i just add a note below addresses table to clarify this, i have an additional sheet for the table.

because my reference letters from employers have my mailing address in them. Or that is not required?

I mean it should not look like i am hiding/changing the address i.e. not matching with the documents (reference letters).
