I got my COPR with my maiden name, but I changed my last name on my PR card to my married last name.

Now that I'm applying online for citizenship, in the "Personal Info", it asks for the following:

1) your name
Your full name as shown on your
  • Record of Landing (IMM 1000)
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688), or
  • last permanent resident card (PR card)
2) have you changed your name since becoming a permanent resident?

Should I still use my old maiden last name for answering 1) "your name" and use my married last name to answer 2) ?
Or should I always use my married name and mention my maiden name in the "Have you ever used any other name?" section?

Hello, I was in same boat. PR as single woman, citizenship application as married woman. Here’s what happened…..

When i entered the name on my PR card, the system automatically changed the “applicant” name to my maiden name and I submitted that way but i attached my marriage cert and a letter of explanation that I no longer bear the maiden name.

My AOR letter came in my maiden name but my test invite letter came in my new name. You can ask others for their input but that was my experience. Yet to get citizenship so I don’t know if my certificate will be in the new name but I would hope so.
