Made mistake in visa application (name

Hi,

I have made a mistake in my visa application where I have mentioned my full name(first& Last name) in Family name section and left given name blank.

Example -

Given Name -
Family Name - Rohit Singh

Is this will cause a major issue? How can I correct this mistake?

In my case I have added my full name in both given and family name fields.I got my biometric instruction letter with my name twice as in Rohit Singh Rohit Singh.
After visiting biometric centre they refused to collect my biometric information because of this mistake. Have you received your biometric letter?

What is the name on your passport? Is it separate there as well? Like Family name: Singh and Given name: Rohit?

Should I also fill the webform. How many days it takes for correction after filling the webform?

May be you should apply for biometric first and see what they say. I believe biometrics can be taken if the VAC is not greedy because they tried to offer 4000 package for getting my name corrected. As per other people in queue, the Biometric information should have been correctly taken based on the name on my passport and then I should be have submitted the webform so when they provide visa then it should have my correct name. But VAC said I have to get my name rectified first.

Yes, please take an appointment. Don't mention the mistake unless they notice. In my case it was pretty evident given my name was coming twice but in your case may they won't notice. Please also post whatever happens with your case so I and others can benefit from it.

I visited for biometric. I have taken VFS premium services at 3800. And the whole process went through smoothly. Finally I have seen that they have updated my name according to passport.

I think my name was all according to passport name and the only mistake was that given name section was blank, so VFS does not have any problem in updating that.

That's good to hear. Could you tell me more about he process?
Like where all they did the change in terms of the forms?
How much time did it take?
Any other details would really help for me to decider further.
