I have all the current Adobe software, I just never get to that step. If I download it (pressing ctrl while clicking on the link), I can save the file, but when I open it in Adobe Reader, it just shows the 'Please wait...' text.
But I managed to get it from a friend who had it as a pdf, so that is ok now.

I had the exact same problem. Banged my head around it for days.
Solution:
1) Download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader for MAC.
2) Save the File (Desktop or some other location)
3) Launch the File using Adobe Acrobat Reader. It will work.

Everything that Apple produces requires using the latest versions of installed applications and programs. Therefore, before installing any application, it is important to first download and install on your MacBook the program necessary to install them as you were advised earlier.
